Sure I agree, any country would be mad salty if they lose in a sport they dominate. He said little brother would be salty, big brother is salty right now. Imagine if Canada beat the US @ basketball. Sure that would never happen but if it did, riots would just destroy the US. So it works both ways at the end of the day.
Very well put, sadly people are very shallow and point out any flaw in any hosted game that is not in their country. I do admit the luge accident was terrible, other countries blame the track. I am not sure why it happened, he is 21 years old and is very young at the sport. I think any country could have made design mistakes, look at accidents at simple theme parks world wide. It does happen to say the least…
Other than the incident I think the games ran smoothly, I love how they poked fun at the opening ceremony failure during the closing ceremonies.
wtf are you talking about. jesus christ…after all these years on this forum i don’t know why i still expect someone to actual know something about hockey.
Canada wouldn’t know how to riot. They’d probably end up leaving behind money for that TV they took.
That’s my point. Basically all modern music sucks, but at least Nickelback actually has a band that knows how to play their respective instruments. One mediocre guitarist has more musical talent than the entire Billboard Top 10 combined.
Yeah…Dragon Age is better than FF8…
I’m the saltiest about Team USA’s Pringleness. And that’s cuz I actually like hockey, and watch the NHL. I’ve got more emotional investment in Hockey and Baseball than I do in football (and I actually really like football), so it pisses me off more than everyone who’s just going back to watching the WWE or less-competitive non-sports like basketball.
Dude that’s pretty much why it was a great game. I think we have SRKers salty on both sides. But I am glad to see people enjoy the game for what it is.
people with any common sense will know it was a super close game and a super good game
instead of coming up with excuses why “we won” or "we lost"
but its really hard for some people (spuddly) to just accept defeat
frankly im glad it was memorable and not a blow out for either side
Couldn’t agree more. USA gave Canada a run for their money this year, something nobody was really expecting all that much. Which makes all the people posting “USA was free” on facebook/twitter kind of ridiculous no? I think the terms “free” and “rape” stop being valid the moment you hit overtime.
Either way, good shit to both countries for each breaking world records. Looking forward to seeing Russians kick all sorts of ass in 4 years.
It was a great game indeed and thank you god that is was not a blown out cause then people would have lost interest right away. Hopefully this boost the current upswing ratings the nhl has been seeing for the past 4 years. Maybe one day it will become part of the big 4 in the states again.
Objectively, the first game between Canada and the USA was even better, and those last three minutes in the third period was probably the most exciting thing in the Olympics. And more Canadian SRKers were salty about that than American SRKers were about this loss in the gold medal game. I’m just still pissed because I actually give a crap about hockey, unlike many of the other SRKers here.
im talking about you spouting bullshit out of your ass.
it has nothing to do with that. Im judging your knowledge of hockey on the retarded shit you just said. Like were you watching replays of some other series, because there’s no way you were watching this one.
That was one fine hockey game, wasn’t it? Absolutely fantastic on both ends, Miller was a fucking beast and I would have shit my pants if they had gone to a shootout. As a Leafs fan, I had forgotten how crazy meaningful hockey games actually were. Overtime is like experiencing a 20 minute long heart attack…insane.
If we had lost that game, they would have needed to completely wipe Vancouver from the face of the Earth. It would have been like Reboot, when they lose a game and the cube goes back up, and the entire sector is erased.
So good thing Canada won. It was absolutely insane how the entire Olympics essentially came down to a hockey game - no one would have given a shit about the other medals (fairly or unfairly) if we didn’t take men’s hockey…instead we did, so now we are the best.
The best thing about any Canada vs. America pissing contests is that deep down everyone knows that all Americans secretly or openly really want to live in Canada anyway. The only things they have on us is In-N-Out Burger and Hulu.com.
