well that’s some ol bullshit right t here. something must be done. according to wikipedia the winter olympics had a budget of 1.76 billion so even if you were to make them out of pure gold that wouldn’t any make up any significant part of their budget. shoot I bet that pillar that failed to raise during opening ceremony cost most than what gold medals would have cost. I’m sure Jacob the Jeweler could have given them a good bulk discount 
and they aint got to be solid gold, it could be like 18k or something. I’ve seen old school rapper still rocking their gold pieces from back in the day so I know it lasts. all I’m saying is that when you spend that much on the games you should give the winners more than some ugly ass mishapened 500 dollar chunk of silver. I mean what about when these athletes are washed up with no money and they try to pawn their medal for crack rocks and it aint worth shiz. the value of the raw materials should be way higher than 500 bucks.
