Official USFIV/GGXrd/P4U TE2 Thread

Most of the parts except the Noir panel are already available

Its just glue, Mad Catz does the same BS with all their other arcade controllers.

When it gets in the way we just chip it off.

I got one as well and the stick pretty much has the same problems stated above. I can deal with the rainbow effect on the plexi but the top not fully closing is a big deal I don’t know how MadCatz can overlook that.

The only thing I like about it is the padding used on the bottom of the stick.

I’m wondering…does anyone else with a TE2 have this issue? Because if it’s just a bad batch I’m gonna ask for an exchange. But if all of the TE2’s are like this then I’m going to have to ask for a return. This is something that is not acceptable.

Look through this thread, mainly the last 6-7 pages. Quite a few people have that problem including myself and other things like the artwork came all scratched up and plexi did too, got the plexi replaced for free for the old better thicker one though.

Are you sure that the hinge isn’t closing properly or is it just the creaking sound that the plastic makes when it bends a little at the edges? If it is the latter and that bothers you that much, it can be easily be fixed by putting a layer or two of electrical tape in the joint at each corner.

Reading through this and multiple other TE2 threads, every issue that comes up with the stick seems to be cosmetic and easily/quickly/cheaply fixed. There has been a huge amount of high drama made about what, in my opinion, are minor issues having nothing to do with the functionality of the stick. Truly, no stick is going to be perfect for everyone right out of the box but the TE2 is so easily modded with so many aftermarket parts out there that you can make it perfect for you with very little trouble and a little imagination. Of course, there is another really super stick that just came out that everyone will tell you is WAY better: except for the $100 extra, chord door sucking, non-matching black plastic coloration, paint rubbing off/chipping, option buttons sucking, occasional gashes in the metal, etc.

The hinge doesn’t close properly. I can push it down literally a quarter of an inch. Plus as mentioned, there’s already rust forming on the hinge.

There is nothing cosmetic about this.

If it was just the oily rainbow effect under the panel, I wouldn’t care. Hell even if there was a scratch or chip on the panel, i wouldnt care. But using the stick and feeling the whole panel depress is not a good feeling at all.

Show us some pictures of the hinge and lock portion (both female and male parts) or even better, youtube a video of the issue. This is a forum full of modders and problem solvers that may have ideas on an easy fix. Of course, if it is a broken part from a stick that came new from Mad Catz or an authorized seller, you should get a replacement no problem. I have encountered 5 TE2 sticks myself including my own and have not seen that issue so it is not simply a “working as intended” issue. I’m sure to bump into Markman at the Texas Shootout so I’ll ask him if he has seen/heard of it and, if so, if he knows of any easy fixes.

Does this ship to Canada? really want the blue sides off my stick

I’ve had all of those issues, on top of that it’s also really hollow and doesn’t sound so great when you’re pressing buttons, and the plexi not properly covering your buttons as well. I actually caved in and brought a Hori RAP Kai and I’m gonna try and return the TE2 although I doubt that’s possible.

Yeah I’m pretty disappointed with the TE2.

I also have the Hori Kai V4 and it definitely feels more solid.

I’m waiting on my TE2, but my HRAP4 Kai sounds hollow as well. It’s not as big of a deal as the other mentioned issues, but if you want, you can stuff your stick with some foam or something to dampen the sound.

Yo guys. I peeled off this little black strip thinking the turbo button and ls dpad rs and lock switches were under it. They are not and now i have goop all under it from its stickyness…:frowning: what can i do?

Amazon changed the release date of May 30 to July 30.
I am very sad, I had to cancel the PreSale.

Does madcatz normally ship their products to Canada only on fridays?

I bought a usf4 ps4 stick last Friday when they were on stock and I called yesterday and was told they only ship on fridays for Canadians and no other shipping option is available

I don’t get how this is fair I ordered a stick on Friday a stick thats hardly on stock and I have to wait a week just for them to ship it and then another week maybe two to receive it

I’m having doubts they even have one on stock for me, this is p crazy I’ve never heard of a company only shipping to Canada on a specific day… not even japan resellers do that. …

Hey MarkMan, I gotta say I pre ordered the Ultra SF IV TE2 for PS4 and I couldn’t be more disappointed with the build. It feels very flimsy compared to my SFxT stick and all my other Madcatz sticks. I also pulled out the last two buttons and put in plugs like I do with all my sticks and the plugs are smaller than the holes on the plexi. They don’t rest on top of the panel anymore but fall into it and rest on the bottom layer. Really not happy with this stick. Is this a fluke and I got a bad one? Can Madcatz do something for me or do I just put the stick on ebay and hope my SFxT stick works on PS4 when Ultra comes out? I have never had an experience like this with a Madcatz stick so I am really surprised.

PS3 sticks won’t work on the PS4 USFIV, capcom doesn’t go through all those partnerships and stuff for people not to buy a new stick lol
Did you put the clear rings around the button plugs first?

Clear rings? I’ve never done that before. Is this a separate piece I need to buy? Normally I just snap 'em in.

This stick comes with clear rings around each button to make it the same height as the plexiglass because the buttons don’t sit on the plexi because the holes are larger than normal to make it easy to remove without removing the buttons to change art or whatever.

The buttons didn’t look any different than any other Sanwa button I have ever had before. I will need to check this out when I get home. Thanks.
