I wouldn’t really split hairs over the PS3/PS4 mode switch. Most (if not all) 3rd party PS4 controllers have this switch.
Any ways [it appears that] Sony really wants the PS4 controllers to be backwards compatible with PS3 and sideways compatible with PC.
And the PS4 Dual shock only have basic operations on the PS3 and PC. No rumble, Motion control (Six Axis) touch pad or home button use outside the PS4.
It looks to me that Mad Catz with the PS4 version TE 2 did the same thing with Hori and the Hrap V4, that you actually get back proper Select/Start and Home button use.
Its alot like the LS-DP-RS switch for the joystick, once you set your controller to X you just leave the switch there and forget about it.
@MarkMan I tried to pre order the ps4 & ps3 usf4 te2 fightstick but it says it’s out of stock. Will the company re stock it soon? If so when ?
Please help me!!!
Right , but is not only useless ,is not aesthetic and crop dust.
The LS-DP-RS switch is more in line with the TE 2 itself + it can be usefull in some menu.
And in some situations a PS3 mode can be usefull. Actually for many people having a PS3 / PS4 mode switch is extremely useful its almost like Mad Catz is doing a factory Dual mod.
No one (that isn’t a scrub) uses L1/LB and L2/LT on a stick, and I understood they are usefull somewhere some how but I can’t fathom why.
The PS3 <-> PS4 Switch isn’t a Mad Catz thing as I said the Hori Real Arcade Pro V4 has the exact same switch, its going to be a feature on every Retail PS4 stick.
just ran into the same thing. it lets you add the stick into your cart as a preorder, but the cart says “out of stock”. The system will then let you run all the way through the checkout process until the very end where it tells you that you can’t complete your order.
Are the USFIV/Persona/XRD sticks supposed to have any improvements over the KI stick? That some people said the top panel plastic seems thin and flexes when you put your hands weight on it, squeezing sounds and the top moves like the latch doesn’t doesn’t secure it enough to feel solid and closed among other things.
For that price I hope it’s even more solid and better quality than the great old TE
