Hey guys what?s up?
OK I know half of you are going Where the hell have you been and the other half are going who the hell are you. Understandable considering I appear and disappear in and out of the scene. Well all I can say is school has been a real bitch (fucking ITT and Fucking Aleks) and I am trying to finish up so I can graduate on time in March.
So what does this have to do with anything? I?ll tell you.
1 I know I?m going to go GGPO due to lack of practice.
2 I am still bringing the PC and Melty Blood React Final Tuned.
3 I have two PS2 to USB adaptors that (as far as I have been able to tell) have no lag on them so you all can use your sticks on it.
3 If I have time I?ll have a Guilty Gear 2x #Reload- Remixed that I am working on as well.
4 If anyone has a good Mugen game they want to bring I?ll run it on there as well.
5 My wife knows someone who is a reporter and is trying to start her own site for covering games. So we might get a little exposure for the showdown too.
Anyways I?ll try to make it to the gate sometime before showdown. See ya all there.

Since im not going to be doing anything and still not good good at mvc2, i am willing to help run any game at UH if someone can give me ride back home at night during anyday of the tourney. Live close by downtown and i can get there in the mornings but not willing to take the bus back home at night.

- I’m looking to join somebody’s MvC2 team. Originally I was looking at joining Matrix/Jumpeee’s team but it looks like we may not be renewing last year’s 2nd place champs so I dunno…
- If you play ST, DOA4, CvS2, 3s, or MvC2, I will be more than happy to teach you some shit, and i need housing…
- I’m running ECC so if you need a hook-up go no further…

An NGBC tournament will require: at least 2x TV + modded PS2s + people to run it.
A Bleach DS tournament will require: interested persons having their DS and making matches.
Since all of 4 people seem to be interested, there’s no reason to bother with this Bleach idea.
However, running an NGBC/SST tournament would require space and equipment that would be taken away from the tournaments that are already struggling to be ran on time. Unless you’re willing to provide TVs/PS2s/Games (does TS6 need legit copies for everything this year?), then running the tournament as a TS6 event is a waste of valuable time and resources. Even advertising a possible tourney is kind of bunk also, since if say 12 people show up from out of state, and they only want to play in the NGBC tournament, then they just got totally dicked. And, since one of the K-Force guys posted, I assume at least two will be showing up just for that.
I can already imagine the situation. A handful of guys constantly approaching Chris saying, “what about the NGBC tourney? When is it starting?” and then Chris saying, “we didn’t even get enough people!” And you can imagine Chris’s voice as you read! It’s like this hasn’t happened before.
Dark Geese, I know you love SNK and Capcom is 2nd to you, or whatever, but I have been to a few of these things before. And helped run, too. And refused to get Chris food with Ochoa (HAAAA gooks sux). And, I know, despite all the clamor and fervor for a possible NGBC/KoF2k2/2k3/Neowave/SSTenka/Savage Reign tournament, no one will show up for the tourney except a very small handful of players, and half of those that show up won’t even enter if they end up losing in casuals.
And I’d be flabberghasted if NGBC actually got 16 entrants at all. I’d imagine SST would get more, since it’s popular in Japan now and even fubarduck!!! would enter that. But, also, probably 7 people in the US know how to play it.
In conclusion, I think neither SNK tourney should be held lest people bring all the necessary equipment to run it. Only then will they truly realize the futility of their actions.
AMODF I think you are trying to prove a point thats already been proben. We all know that at the most NGBC will get 10 participants, now for a tourney of that size one set up should be more than enough. I think the people who are attending already know that. Last year I drove 1,500 miles in 24hrs for a 5 men KOF2002 tourney, and this year Im going back. I don’t know if I met you last year but the organizers who I met were cool about it.
I’m not really going for NGBC, I hardly play that game but will join the tourney just to support the scene in TX. If its necessary I will take my modded PS2 and run the tourney. Now, I dont think it will be a big problem for the organizers to have a couple of guys playing in a loan corner.
Now if you are the Main organizer behind TS6 with the final word and don’t want to have a NGBC tourney, I’ll will respect that., but if not you shouldn’t wast your time with this topic.
Last year I went ahead with the tournament because most of the competitors(3 from Cali, the rest from NYC besides maybe 1 or 2 from Houston) were from out of state, and I already paid for rental of the cabinet.
This year it will more than likely fall to the amount of competitors it draws. I would like 16, but I am printing out tags in case it does have a following. I don’t know where the SNK players are, they apparently aren’t on Neo-geo.com or SNK-Capcom.com, cause most of them say they won’t touch anything except KOF 98, 2K2, and Garou. Even when we did hold those games they didn’t draw so I don’t know what to say really. SNK has been very disappointing attendance wise. But I do try to support it since they do release new games every year. Are there any more players coming with you from K-Force?
