wheee paul lee!! good luck in japan! i thought you were gonna make me better… but nooooo.
- i didn’t go to SBO (cause i’m in norcal) and i didn’t see paul play…
my post wasn’t directed to paul, and i’m apologize to paul if it looked like i was talking about your incident and was commenting about it. i do not have a first person look, NOR a second hand look… (cause i still don’t quite know what happened) but if others didn’t feel it was abused, then fine with me.
- omni + ponder + others: how would that consitute ‘part of the game’? just cause it happens, doesn’t mean it should be allowed. you don’t see japanese players throw spit wads across the division to distract someone else on the “competitive style setup”. you don’t see them attach a dollar bill (or 10 yen bill) onto a fishing rod and distract the other person.
but, “we don’t live in japan, live with it.”. yes, i know. on the ‘side by side’ set up, it’s inevitable. i’m not saying we should really enforce these ideas. it’s impossible. so many judgemental calls, will result in many emotional outcries. the loser will complain. someone will be wrongfully accused. whatever the reason…
so, what i was saying is it should be part of “manners”… unwritten law that prohibits these kind of behavior…
i mean, sometimes people try to mash out of things humanly impossible… yet they try… maybe out of desperation, maybe to mess up the opponents timing, maybe BLAH, maybe BLAH.
but, in the end, it’s shouldn’t happen.
just… be courteous… if you made a mistake or did something stupid, you are giving the other person a chance to retaliate. if you are taking that advantage out in any form, then you are just not accepting your own self…
for the sake of argument, let say LFJA would have messed up on the parry for the last hit and then lost the match. we’ll never know, cause lets say i ‘bumped’ his hand by accident. even if it was accidental, even if LFJA would have messed up anyways, what i did MIGHT have affected the outcome…
it just makes me look bad… altho it shouldn’t matter (in the case LFJA has never parried the last hit and would have died anyways) and it shouldn’t have came up anyhow. (in the case LFJA has never missed a parry all his life and would have won, but was distracted and lost)
i’m not pointing fingers…
i’m not looking for apologies of consistent ‘slammers’. (i’ve played with paul for almost a year, and i haven’t seen/felt him slam once)
i was only speaking my opinion, cause i have been on the recieving end of many ‘slams’… and it doesn’t feel good… i’m not a good executer, so i would have fucked up anyways… who knows? but when that happens tho, you just doubt…
you doubt if i AM a shitty player. that i would have fucked up regardless.
you doubt your own skills. (not that i have much, but still)
that can affect you in similar situation and cause mistakes even if the opponent didn’t slam…
whatever… i’m WAY off tangent…
final note: be nice, cause being mean = you are gay. and if you are in fact gay, like Carnevil, then you are a girl.
=)
