Official Street Fighter IV FightSticks & FightPad Thread (More on the way!)

if they could emulate the look and feel of the SF4 arcade controls, i believe a lot of people would be very happy.

thanks for the update, markman.

@slagcoin, there is a warranty service line, as long as you have the receipt/proof of purchase they should be able to help you.

1-800-659-2287. However if you opened it up for modding purposes, you’re screwed as that voids warranty ;( lol

You sure they won’t take it opened, in pieces, and soldered and wired-up?..

Screwed, lol.

  • I’ve owned several Mad Catz controllers (Saturn), cables and light guns (DC) and have found them to be comfortable and responsive. The problem is that they aren’t very durable and always seemed to break right after the warranty was up. I’m pretty sure it’s not me as I’ve never had a first party controller break in any of the systems I’ve owned.

Maybe they’re better now with the quality of their products…

Thanks markman. So much hype about this! Now that Madcatz is official, why not ask us for our opinions on what we want? The answers may surprise. I just had a poll here where 80% of us wanted japanese style sticks and layout. That leaves 20% disappointed…

I mention this because all the “we will love it” talk i’ve read on the capcom boards doesn’t feel right. Its not possible to please everyone. I hope madcatz will let us know what is being done before things get finalized. Even the experts overlook things!

In Markman, we believe in…nuff said

I will add to this WIRELESS

Vewlix panel design. Which of course wont happen because you would have to pay Taito. Still, don’t put a bat top in there.

in for clean pcb

As long as its like about HRAP size with QD’s that is easy to mod (easy to fit sanwa for instance) then Ill be a happy camper.

Smaller would be better imo. Sucks to transport a HRAP. It does not even fit in my normal Backpack:rofl: A bit lower and less wide would be good:wink:

I’ll throw this suggestion in…Interchangeable Panel Art

This could be the first official stick with a community. Maybe madcatz can offer Udon art downloads from their site. That should get alot of internet buzz. Off the top of my head…

  • Character specific art
  • Rivalry art
  • Blank template :wgrin:

MarkMan taking care of business.

Easily accessable and QDs would make just about everyone happy.

…and if this is madcats we’re obviously looking at some sort of proprietary stick/buttons…right? Not Sanswa/HAPP/Etc etc…

Well if S-Kill and Markman are on the this team designing this stick for Madcatz, I think I can sleep soundly tonight.

i have faith in s-kill and markman. I am guessing decent knock off parts for those that dont mod, and is easily moddable for those that do.

Very wishful thinking. I really really want to believe, but the cynic in me doesn’t have that kind of faith. I am expecting knock off american parts soldered directly into a pcb with a somewhat decent case for modding.
I want to think that we would get a high quality stock stick, but there is no money to be made from the masses with the cost of high quality parts.

I would be happy with a high quality casing, very good PCB with a common ground, QD’s and a metal panel. Screw the buttons and stick quality since they can hopefully be replaced.

Aside from what everyone has already posted, the stick being PS3/360 compatible will seal the deal for me.

The ps2/xbox compatibility for the SFAC sticks was such a good thing I can only hope its applied for next gen systems.

if they decide to make it ps3/360 compatible, then it will probably be compatible with pc too and thats just gdlk.

Agreed!
