Worry not. You’ll be receiving a call from Ashley (the automated messaging) letting you know that you’re stick will be available for pick up the next day. As for the 48 hours, when it comes to collectors, limited, special edition skus, we tend to hold on tho those for quite a while since we only get in what was reserved based on allocation. Come the 48 hours, the store SHOULD attempt to call you to remind you of your arrived product in case you missed the original call. Every attempt is made to hold on to a limited/special/etc sku for ALL our customers and shouldn’t sell it to someone asking if we received any ‘extra’ in. That is the purpose of reserving it in the first place. They should have reserved it if they wanted one themselves.
Hell, I’m still sitting on a Rockband 2 Special Edition for the Wii in my backroom for one of my customers! And we got them in back on the 28th of December. How’s that for customer service? C’mon, that is 2 weeks!! Though we cannot keep it forever, if we have many people asking for it, the very least we would call the customer and notify them that if they wish to keep their reserve and cannot come in to pick up their product then that is fine and ask it is alright if we sell their original reserve because it is in high demand. Then when the next shipment comes we’ll hold on to a copy. (this usually applies to software that aren’t bundled with a lot of goodies, ie. WOTLK, GTAIV limited, Halo3, and etc)
If all else fails, we’ll refund the customers money they had on the reserve.
You should be good to go and may want to call your store and see what they can do for you in case you’re not able to make it in for 2+ days (the answer should be ‘Yes, we’ll still hold on to it for you’)
Mad Catz is advising UK gamers to keep their eyes on its online store this afternoon when it will be taking “strictly limited pre-orders”. "Orders on the store will be fulfilled strictly on a first come first serve basis and will only be available for purchase and delivery to mainland UK customers," it said.
Yeah, even Madcatz UK is going to have extremely limited supply of the TE stick?
That just sucks.
Is there a chance that some European retailers will get less sticks than they wanted due to limited availability and all this stuff?
I’ ve already preordered at bol.com and shopto.com … Hope that I won’t get screwed in the end.
By the way, if you check Guitar Hero III (with guitar) at shopto.com they clearly state that it’s not for sale to Europe (I guess that it means that they just won’t ship it).
So um… yeah, I don’t think that there’s the slightest of chance in sending me the even bigger/heavier/bulkier TE stick.
Wow, I think I’m too late. I didn’t know everyone and their mother was gonna preorder the TE stick. I was lookin’ forward to wastin’ all this GS store credit >_<
I live in the uk, and i am desperate to get a TE. After all failed attemps of online purchase I called my local game retailer and i have got one ordered no problems
I live in a small town and like I say no problems the retailer where i made my order is PLAYTIME MUTILMEDIA 130 to 150. SO DONT FORGET TO TRY YOUR SMALL RETAILERS
Given the apparently limited edition nature of these TE sticks I dont see how little independents will be able to source them. I am even very doubtful that my two pre oreders from shopto will turn up as I have a feeling some stores have opened preorders without actually knowing if or how many sticks will be allocated to them. If the official uk Madcatz store has yet to do pre orders then I find it bizarre how other uk stores are able to. Amazon.uk have not made any pre orders available yet either which in my opinion is more of a true reflection of the availabilty of these sticks in the UK. Basically if Amazon.uk cannot get any and Madcatz uk can only get a few then what makes you think a local indie will be able to.
Well its a bit annoying not to know really , I got two preorders for backup in case shopto doesnt get enough stock , I mailed them to have a proper status report if they can provide it
EDIT :
just got reply :
This shouldn’t be a problem, we had an allocation which we have now filled.
I hope this is true. I want a fightstick for the 360 and maybe mod it in the future, along with some fightpads. I hate ebgames.ca it’s such a joke there’s never any info on it.
I’m pretty disappointed that lizardlick will be shipping the PS3 TE later than expected…I’ll probably get it in late March :wasted:
Thanks for that confirmation, Abby! Was a bit concerned, considering the up-in-the-airness of the product’s release – and I may somehow miss the call if it drops earlier than expected.
I was never too big on arcade sticks at all until now. For all the hype I have about SF4 the collectors edition, for some reason I’m a little more excited about that regular Fightsick I just preordered. The guy at gamestop said that the fightstick is gonna come out about a week before the game so I’ll be able to use it on HD Remix before I spend all my time on SF4 lol.
Well the hype is because this has never been done before, even with the 15th anniversary stick it wasn’t a great stick. This is the first stick that was built with the fighting and mod community in mind. They basically built the only stick you will ever need. Easily swappable parts, labeled connections, quick disconnects this is a stick that if ordered on SRK from one of our great stick makers would cost you around 250.00 or more. They basically thought of everything we would want in a stick and made it happen, and as soon as mine arrive I am putting my seimetsu in one and a fanta in the other.
