Apparently, there is a spelling mistake with Mika in Tiamat’s guide: It’s Hokuriku not Hokuriko. The latter doesn’t seem to exist, and the former is famous for its fishing (and it’s NW of Tokyo).
Further evidence for Birdie: in SF1 we can see the Lonsdale factory in W1F (which is under 1 mile from Hampstead)
In the SSF2 Hawk background we can actually read “Tehuantepec” (which is near Monte Alban)
Dudley: 3S is outside Harrods in Knightsbridge SW7, which is half a mile from Westminster (Big Ben is seen in Double Impact)
I think it is still a bit open to discussion if she was made by Shadoolaw or modified by Shadoolaw. We had this discussion on another thread a short while back. Although some games say she has the same DNA as Bison, which doesn’t make sence in science unless you think of it as saying ‘some of the same DNA’, SFRevival gives the best idea.
From Street Fighter 2 Revival:
“Listen to me, my little Cammy. You are just a copy generated from my DNA!”
Here the keyword is ‘generated’. This suggests 2 things:
She was genetically enhanced with Bisons DNA.
She was created from scratch using Bisons DNA.
Scientificly the first sounds a million times more likely as it is already possible to a certain extent, whilst the later isn’t so easy. Yet, what is on Capcoms minds is another story.
In either case, her base is in England during the SF2 tourny.
Please Ignore my last post.
It was an accident.
I have made a posting error and did’nt have the time to edit it earlier.
What I truly meant to say was this:
"Well, I would’nt say that Cammy was from london. You are right about Cammy’s location being somewhere in london, but I would’nt say that was where she was originaly from.
Capcom never officaily stated where she was originaly from axcept being Created using Bison’s DNA.
After SFA3, she was taken by Vega from shadowloo to live a new life in London.
So Basicaly, I would say that She “Moved to london”, not FROM london. "
You might think that Dan is living in Hong Kong since that’s where he’s from, but if you play CVS 1 Pro and go to Vega’s(cape) Stage, it releals that his location is indeed Japan. It’s pretty obvious Dan lives in Japan now and that’s where his Saikyo Dojo is located. Dan is 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Chinese(From Hong Kong).
Thanks for the input Lantis (although some of that stuff is available in the Japanese Roms, and is covered on the 1st page)
If we’re going by move names, then Eagle could be any of: Canterbury, Liverpool, Manchester, Oxford, St. Andrews. Actually, that last one is in Scotland, so scratch that, and I doubt it’s Liverpool, either…
Speaking of castles, the coat of arms in the Cammy stage looks like the flag of Lower Saxony! Or maybe it’s the family of Alfars, or Bewes of Cornwall. Neither of these are promising, so Capcom probably made the thing up. And yeah, Cammy seems to have about 3 official stories that contradict! But yeah, the actual location for her seems to be central/northern England.
I think in A3 it’s meant to be Hinode Park, Furano, Japan. Anything specific on that dojo?
Could Oro be Brazillian? Possibly Colombian?
Twelve - Russia? (???, ??? ???, ???, ??? )
Urien- Mexico?
Also, I just found these for SF3 on gamefaqs. They sound reasonable enough, and I don’t see why somebody would make something up if it wasn’t canon:
Ibuki stage is Kyoto ??
Elena: Nairobi, Kenya (NG and 2I)
Gill: Somewhere on the Mediterranean
Ryu: Tokyo Zoo (NG) ???
Hugo: Mnchen (2I)
Sean San Paulo (2I)
Urien: Cairo (2I) ???
Tiamat- In order to make this info safe, is there any chance of getting a plot guide update? I’ve spent a good deal of time finding this stuff out (so have others), and I don’t have it backed up, so I nearly had a heart attack when the board went down!
But SF1, SF3 and most of SF2 isn’t covered. Hence the thread (which was originally meant to be essentially a conversation with Tiamat). It looks to me like the guide only includes stuff thats explicity mentioned in the menus. But obviously this thread has a lot of (accurate) info that can be infered from scenery or other indirect facts.
Speaking of the plot guide, here’s some other stuff that’s missed out:
Adon’s ending features the Lumpini Stadium in Thailand.
Oro is a "sennin"
Alex is a retired soldier…
Sean: “A Brazilian boy from a very, average household with uncanny athletic ability. Inspired by Ken at a fighting tournament, he hits the road in pursuit of his idol. Strictly disciplined by his grandfather (of Japanese extraction), Sean is polite and courteous, but with a burning desire to win”
Eheh… sorry about that But I’m actually a dunce when it comes to world locations, too, so essentially I just lurk and record stuff to add to the plot guide, really ^^
Correction:
I’ve already gathered the SF3 stage locations. You can find them in the SF storyline thread.
The Lumpini Stadium thing is already mentioned in the plot guide.
Tiamat uses the word Senjin instead of Sennin in the plot guide, so that’s kinda’ already mentioned (though I think Sennin is the correct spelling).
I asked vasili10 about Alex’s military background and AAC says nothing about him being a retired soldier.
All that stuff u said 'bout Sean is true. However, the plot guide already mentions that his grandfather is of Japanese descent.
He has a move called “Flying Barcelona Attack”, and in Street Fighter II V, the tv series, when they go to Spain, the streets that they show are real from Barcelona (so accurate, by the way). And in the ending of SF2V, when some travel photos are showed, appears the “Sagrada Familia”, from Barcelona.
That church/temple is always full of japanese tourist (I live in that city ), and appears in lots of games (Pang or Fatal Fury 2, in the bullfighter’s stage) when that stage is placed in Spain.
