You should read some guides they have on teamliquid.net. I only spent a few minutes reading a few, and they’re all extremely detailed and should be plenty helpful.

If you want to get better then learn the build orders and strats against each race, teamliquid has the information. If you want higher APM you have to play a lot, and not just play, you have to force your self to be faster and faster while trying to keep your gameplay consistent.
If some things are difficult to understand just watch some tournaments to see what the best players do and why they do it.
Starcraft isn’t that simple though, it’s mostly seeing what your opponent does and reacting to it. If you want to get to a decent level you need to learn how to play the other races to a certain extent. To be a good player you have to know how to scout and harrass. You also need to learn to micro and attack ratios. Macro is also extremely important unless you’re playing with noobs who play fastest/money maps.
