I imagine this is the case, but from the sound of things, his efforts are being vindicated at least from the standpoint of the finished product. I try to be skeptical of things, but the recent SFHD news has me feeling pretty excited. Good time to be a fan of classic Street Fighter.

well the person controlling the faucet is either corrupt or too paranoid about
HD Remix possibly being delayed again. They don’t want the same thing
to happen to BC’s marketing which some say happened too early.

I think even they are reasonable enough to let the marketing flow once they
submit the game and get the OK for release. But it looks like they won’t even
submit it now until all the kinks are unnoticeable.

yeah SFIV even for February, is coming at a bad time. they should push the SFIV
console release for 2010 at least. but they don’t care, even
if it steals from HD Remix’s share of the interest and profits (cause you know most people won’t buy two street fighter games that are less than 1 year apart.)

Otherwise good shit. I don’t plan on getting a PS3 until after Christmas anyway, so delays don’t bother me at all. Even if it were released today, I’d wait for the player herd to thin out until all the “OMG hadouken spammer” whiners stop playing.

But I sure do wish this got a Steam release. I’d purchase 2 copies if that was the case.

this is in response to sabre’s post and i’m not trying to diss sirlin in anyway but he shouldn’t be too surprised that his yomi game got rejected because capcom came out with their own sf card game a few years ago and it didnt really take off. it’s too bad too the art was realllyy sexy.

about the “glitches,” the console just froze and required a reboot. they seemed to be using special xbox360’s, perhaps a dev kit or something- looked exactly like a regular 360, because when it rebooted it went into a service looking ui and the guy had to tell it to boot the dash board.

so that little problem could be fixed before a final product comes out. it froze on the vs screen for me. no sweat

Also, the idea that SFIV is going to take attention away from HDR is and will always be retarded.

It goes against every fucking case it’s happened in history. MGS4 release increased sales of the MGS collection, Mario Galaxy increased virtual console sales of classic mario games.

The only cases where it decreases sales is market saturation, and capcom isn’t releasing 20 street fighter titles in the next 6 months.

In fact, past cases have shown that Street Fighter IV’s release will only help HDR. So unless you have any evidence that SFIV is going to hurt HDR besides a bullshit theory that people can only devote their attention to one game, SHUT. THE FUCK. UP.

Lazy Foo, I know for me that while I’m going to buy and play HDR, 80% of my street fightering in the foreseeable future will be with SF4 and not HDR. So while I don’t think that SF4 is gonna hurt HDR’s sales (weak publicity is gonna be the culprit for that one), I do think it’ll make the strength of the HDR scene weaker than it otherwise would have been. Not that that’s a big deal from Capcom’s point of view, what do you they care whether people buy it and play it once or buy it and play it 1000 times, their reward is the same both ways.
