It’s not worth it to switch from U1 to U2 just because of one setup.
Well supposedly it’s easier to nail the full animation as an anti air too. What you say is true, though I just found the statement that “500 damage isn’t worth 3 bars” to be disagreeable.
Agreed. Sounds as though Capcom just went with the philosophy of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” with Bison. Which doesn’t necessarily surprise me, but I’m still disappointed. Meh. At least Vega is better.
I take this back, I just crunched some numbers.
Both adjustments go hand in hand. You might see some near Touch of Deathly Stun w/FADC combos from Bison on characters that have 850 to 900 stun. Add to the fact that if Bison is pressuring you, that stun isn’t dropping.
Two FADC incorporated into one Bison combo will stun those 850-900 stun characters easily with this buff. So that +5 on FADC should make Knee Press FADC into s.LK/c.LP, c.MK xx another Knee Press/Crusher for some fancy pants stuff. Practical? Maybe.
So this rewards some of the risk Bison could take on some characters if he gets the right jump in.
Cuz we’re looking at something silly like…
j.HP (200), s.HP (200) xx Knee Press (100) FADC, s.LK (50) s.LK (50) c.MK (100) xx HP Crusher (200) didn’t factor in scaling yet, but it’s pretty high still after scaling*****
And then there’s back throw (150) into ambiguous j.MK (100) and bnb off into whatever, easily near 700 stun combos in AEv2.
Edit2: Above listed combo’s stun values would be something like… 200+200+80+35+30+50+80=675? If you set this up off a back throw for 150 stun, that’s 825.
wiki claims that scissors already deal 150stun; what is the actual current value?
It’s actually 50+50 if you hit up training mode for LK/MK/HK versions. Only EX-Knee Press has 100+50 stun.
Don’t forget that stun scales as well as damage in combos, I have already had this argument with another person so just making sure.
Yeah, those are non-scale values I listed, but after scaling, we’re realistically looking at almost 700 stun combos off ambiguous j.MK into BnB’s with one FADC in effect.
For jump in Fierce/Roundhouse into punish, those 850-900 stun characters are are just about ready to dizzy.
Interesting. So maybe this is actually more of a buff than I first thought.
They’ll go hand in hand, cuz Bison FADC combos are kind of tight. This +5 on Knee Press FADC will make it more lenient. It’s a small unnoticeable buff, but Bison won’t play drastically different. Bison still needs to work hard to get the reads on opponents.
And why do twins have 1000 stun?
Good question, considering how they play I have no idea why they get that much
ok. im saying this now. i know it doesn’t matter cause people here love to whine and complain and all that.
but so far i think they nailed these changes.
minor buffs to most characters, minor nerfs to ones that were maybe a tad strong.
viper players should be rejoicing right now, they barely touched her, a TINY bit of less damage on a couple moves (but her burn kick remains the same) but made it EASIER to combo into ultra 1? her gameplan remains the same, she just has to hit them with like 1 extra normal to seal the deal.
remains of course to be seen what they do to yun, but so far this is all heading in the right direction.
Who knows, perhaps their stun has been reduced enough that Bison may actually stand a chance of stunning them once he manages to land a jump-in? We’ll see.
Dear god, I can’t believe that you’re actually:
A) comparing ex PC with ex lunge
B) I’m actually taking my time to answer to an idiot like you
But anyways…if your question is " Don’t you ever get hit by ex psycho crushers from a distance where Yun usually like to use EX lunge? " then my answer is: FUCK NO.
And this is mostly because decent bison’s don’t randomly throw out ex PC from 3/4 screen. If I get hit by a random ex PC it’s because i’m trying to frame trap and they use it as a reversal…for example let’s say I do c.lp c.lp c.mp walk forward c.mp to frame trap them and they use EX pc and hit me. If Yun tries to do the same thing with ex lunge he’s gonna get hit out of it 100% of the times and won’t even trade. That’s because ex pc is fully invincible on startup and ex lunge isn’t you fucking idiot.
Damn I cannot believe you’re actually winning matches at your local tournaments, you must be playing mentally challenged people or something (probably bison players who like to commit suicide by randomly using ex pc from 3/4 or full screen to get in). I swear your last reply was one of the stupidest comparisons I’ve ever read on srk.

ken got 10 more damage for his SRK.

Here’s what I’m hoping for Dee Jay changes:
Well, here’s to hoping that when his changes are shown tomorrow/day after, most of these things are addressed, XD.
Seems like they’re going with the “Buff everyone” mindset.
Good show, Capcom, you might get me back into this game after all.
Just looked at the retune list.
Looking at the damage buffs I hope this doesn’t turn into vanilla, because I liked super and its more drawn out matches with lower damage.
I’m also concerned about Seth saying that the devs follow the tournament results. That is a TERRIBLE way of considering things. I’m surprised they’re doing that. Looking at tournament matches, yes, but results? They’re nerfing Viper and buffing Ken. If Latif had placed second in Evo with Ken, they could be doing it the other way around right now, is that how I’m supposed to take it?
Also hope it doesn’t lose its more footsie orientated playstyle. I actually liked AE Honda, even though he could be stronger for it. They seem to be reverting him back to the version that requires less thinking (I’m not a Honda main and perhaps it shows, it’s just an observation from seeing Hondas play in super and AE).
I think they may also have statistically taken a look at which characters cause stun on their opponent the most and which the least… but I hope they didn’t merely make it equal with those stun buffs. I don’t think it’s supposed to be.
If that’s the case, Seth is about to get RAPED.
