Buffing Ken?

Yup, and range, and recovery. Seriously, the amount of extra bells and whistles that Ken gets on his DP more than make up for his slightly lower damage.

This is actually a genius idea. I approve. Can’t wait to see some real challenges with like Sako combos or some of those Desk infinites lol.

Ryu should have his nerfs undone (except for roflcopter) from AE.
Buff his backdash and he should be fine

E.Honda didnt deserve the HUGE nerfs on his headbutt.

Buff Guile’s meter gain on his booms. Maybe not as much as Super but a noticable difference.

Raise e.ryu’s health/stun to 950 like oni. His options right now are too risky with 850 health.
Don’t change the distance/speed of his teleport. But make it special cancelable. Just to make his teleport distinct from Akuma.
Fix his U2 where it hits the first DP but whiffs the second DP if you’re far away enough.
Change the startup on his Croutching Foward to 6.

Don’t know why Oni’s DP isn’t FADCable.

Take away some of the frame advantage yun has on his moves. NO MORE EX LUNGE BULL
Also making his combos harder than they are right now.
Nerf the Godlike hitbox on his palms. Same with Yang.

Command grabs overall should be nerfed imo, but keep the game rushdown oriented.

Evil Ryu needs some frame advantage on some of his stuff. Almost everything he does is - on block. If they’re going to have him at such low health/stun he should be a FUCKING MONSTER when he starts attacking you. Seth and Akuma have the lower health/stun because they have such powerful mixups. Evil Ryu doesn’t have the mixups, so all he has is his damage output…too bad he’s not even that fucking scary. Just block his shit and you’ll be fine. Speed up his axekicks so they become true blockstrings off his normals. Also he should receive a bit more health/stun. 950/900 should be fine.

Give him all that and honestly I can’t see anyone picking Ryu over E.Ryu. If you jump his HP/Stun up then his stuff needs to stay bad on block.

I wont deny he has issues, hell tbh the biggest issue he has is that they never should have included him since we already have so many shotos and he is always going to get compared to Akuma and lose 90% of the time. But since he IS in, what needs to be done is to truely make him different from akuma in more ways than just “he has an axe kick and everything else sucks more than akuma.”

Why exactly wouldn’t people pick Ryu in that case? Ryu’s footsies are much more solid and he has a more solid spacing game overall. His normals are generally faster than E. Ryu’s and he has Solar Plexus also. Maybe 900 health/stun then? The low health isn’t the reason people aren’t playing E. Ryu, it’s because he has no way to open people up and he doesn’t offer enough on offense to make him that much of a threat. Buffing his offense would give him more to work with.

only e ryu has is high punish with little meter. like u said he has poor mix up, his zoning isn’t all that, his health doesn’t help currently and he just seems like a shitty akuma with out demon flip, air hadu and he has an axe kick.

i still think his damage should be 150 or 160, he mastered it, it should be the best, sure its the easiest to hit confirm but it isn’t very hard to hit confirm any one elses srkens, the difference is ken can get one more jab before it…, the worst is when you glance with kens srk and whiff into the air or you only get the second and third hit really fast and you fly into the air on block not having a chance to fadc.

juri ex counter is one frame start up while regular is like four frame start up. the start up is ideal for the move. her ex pinwheel does need some tweaking though, as it stands, it’s pretty ass. ultra 2 needs better hitboxes or something. that move is even terrible for punishing at times. i remember when a ryu player did ex tatsu in the corner and i did ultra 2, and juri just flew up in the air while the ryu taunted and did his ultra. i think it was the little things like that which made me drop juri for yang.

You’re right he DID master it, which is why he has such a huge range, and better recovery, and is much safer when using it.

don’t even give me that bull about “faster recovery” if you can’t punish a whiffed srk, whether its kens or anyone elses, go practice because regardless whether ryu or ken whiff it, its getting punished the same way. i agree his range is more but its still used at the same ranges everyone else uses theirs. seriously they can take the 20 damage they added onto his lp srk and add it to the fire srk and keep the extra recovery frames on the lp version.

-Give Honda his Headbutts back (particularly LP headbutt as an AA). I just played a friend online and got a J. FP x 2 vs his regular headbutt. That ain’t cool.

-I saw in another thread someone suggested Gouken’s cr. mp be made comboable into his fireball. I think it would be good if he got more hit stun on his cr. mp overall so he can cancel/combo it into specials. Also make his jabs have enough advantage on hit to link into his medium attack and have his cr. mk force the opponent to stand on hit.
Also EX Tatsu having a hitbox to allow it to hit a little lower would be cool.

950 health with 700 or 750 stun while buffing his offensive to be a little safer on block and giving his heavy kick axe kick overhead properties would probably work well. It would make him different enough from Akuma thanks to making him more combo oriented rather than knockdown/mixup oriented and the extremely low stun rating would create an interesting dichotomy to his rush down style that would be improved via better block strings.

Also his higher health would make him a little better at surviving the ultras that are more likely to show up given his offensive nature.

Personally I’d like to see his teleport be more offensive oriented, speed it up a ton but shorten the range. Make it kind of like Yang’s teleport in that sense.

Lastly, this is just a fun idea I’m throwing out there. What if he could angle his red fireballs like Gouken does with his Gohadoukens.

I mean he was taught by Gouken not Akuma and since he doesn’t have the air fireball it would be an interesting twist to give him the gohadouken fireball but with an akuma twist. Probably would be OP if they didn’t balance its damage or meter gain out a little, or something. But I’m just throwing out an idea that I think would help seperate him from his roots as sort of a gimpy Akuma.

You’re right he did master it, look at all the extra range he has. O and he also does 50more stun than Akuma, and has better meter build than Ryu, and TWICE the number invincible frames and lower body invincible frames than Ryu on his FP SRK and is tied with Akuma (who he beats in stun by a huge margin.)

your over emphasizing that range, the difference is i can lets say hit you with 3 jabs then srk, while everyone else can hit you with 2 jabs, but they won’t glance their srk while ken sometimes does. i have lost matches due to a glancing fp srk where i wanted to fadc but whiffed after one hit and then ate an ultra. also ryu throws out more hadukens in the match where he gains the meter build you say hes losing out on from his srk compared to ken.

A tentative suggestion: one thing that would be neat for Cammy to do that might add utility to her hooligan slide, would be for her to be able to hit focus instead of throw to gain focus armour on her hooligan–BUT she is then commited to do the slide, i.e. they’re mutually exclusive options (doing both would be far too powerful).

Ken’s fine, You should main a shitty character for a while, it would help your perspective.
