Ken’s MK when trying to do crossups with it doesn’t seem to connect much.
All I request is for Zangief’s SPD range to be reduced back to the way it was in Super.
Also, besides changing characters… there should be more than following 5 players… It should be at least around 20-25 players. Search function in the Replay channel and Ranking section. Also, whatever happened to being able to SEND your friends replays? That really needs to be added on there. And that’s all for me.

I understand your feelings about that, and I respect your opinion on her. I myself haven’t voiced my thoughts on Viper in this thread. And I don’t care about her changing or not. However, what you claim to be doing on page 1 is compiling the most common thoughts on the characters by the posters in this thread. But apparently you are ignoring **the opinions you don’t agree with. **Normally that would be fine. But you claim to be compiling a list of the most common suggestions. Not the most common suggestions that you personally agree with.
Because that most people thought that Viper shouldn’t change was just a blatant lie. And probably still is, if not just misleading. And that worries me for the future of the thread, since so many people take part in your topic. It’s alarming that you didn’t change that part of the post (other than wording it a bit differently) even after I compiled a list of the opinions. I thought maybe you just didn’t really count them, but now I see that’s not what it was.
You’re supposed to be subjective, not objective, when compiling a list of the most common suggestions. Even if you think that someone’s opinion isn’t good enough by your standards, that doesn’t mean that their opinions don’t count when claiming that “most people” think something. If that’s the kind of topic this is then you need to make it very clear that you’re not counting the opinions you disagree with. And you’re not doing that right now, and I’ll just end up feeling misrepresented in a “general survey” that disregards opinions that you personally don’t agree with, and then pass them on as the general collective thought on the subject.
And for the record, several people who voted for no change didn’t even bother to give a reason for it at all. Is that a better reason? If you’ve already decided that Viper shouldn’t be changed, then please don’t write that most of us feel that way when apparently that’s not the case.
I liked the idea of this topic, but how you pass off the suggestions you agree with as the general consensus is a bit disturbing.
I can totally understand that you can’t keep track of everything, but in this case I took my time to go through the posts and sum them up for you myself. And in spite of that, you still decided to pass off your own subjective view as our (the posters) most common opinion.
I’d be happy with that if Upball wasn’t safe on block vs Gouken.

I like Gouken too, but using him just makes me feel tied to a log or something. I dont think they should have nerfed or “split up” his kongo counter hit boxes. There shouldn’t be a mid and high, one should cover both so you dont have to guess so much. He should have 1 mid+high counter and 1 low. not 1mid, 1high, and 1low.
That AE nerf wasnt necessary.

Bring Ultra2 back. Increase startup to 6/7 frames (still invulnerable), so that it’s easier to safe jump/ O/S.
Make EX Soul Spiral invincible until hits. It’s a 13f startup move, it’s not too much to ask.
Make soul spiral combos consistent, so we don’t have to burn EX meter for no extra damage but to just ensure it’ll hit.
Make Shamwow juggleable, so she can combo it off Fierce reflect or Soul Piede. This will present her an actual option to ultra 2.
make her jabs +4 and her shorts +5 on hit. Her lights should not be one frame links all over the place.
increase hit stun on fireballs or decrease frames on forward dash. Something to make her FADC combo not a 1 frame link.
Change the hitboxes on her scarf normals so that they actually have the scarf hitting. They’re beyond stupid right now.
shorten backdash.
lower stun to 900.
lower damage on non EX soul throws to 140.
lower damage on soul sparks to 70, change them up so jab is the fast fireball, fierce is the slow moving one?

Make it so that her Lvl 3 Focus attack isn’t blocked when a Soul Satelite hits the blocking opponent right before the Lvl 3 focus hits them. I think that’s a bug that Capcom didn’t notice from Super. It’s still in AE.
It’s not really a bug, it’s just to prevent inescapable unblockables.
Oh yeah, maybe so. I just found it weird how the lvl 3 focus can still hit with the right timing, so I thought it was a bug. And I think you could jump before the lvl 3 focus is released.
And likely just get hit with the orb. Sounds too much like pick your poison, eat a lvl3 focus or get jugged with the orb.

-Jump and get hit by orbs, stay put and get hit by the Lvl3 FA.
EX does 110. This is for when Blanka guesses correctly. It’s very risky.
He’s hard to pressure the way akuma wants to, but it’s not like the ways he can pressure him aren’t very good for akuma. And with those other options I’m not sure you understand how risky it is as a blanka player to just decide to do one of them. If I’m risking a counterhit combo or an ultra I’m not just going to throw out electricity/ex upball, just because they have a possibility of hitting. The risk:reward is not in Blanka’s favor at all. Blanka is very weak to “watered down” mixups because his only solutions to them are block and tech, he has nothing to dissuade you from stopping pressure other than ultra really.
If you stop trying to go crazy with the mixups vs. Blanka you realize how good the simple ones are vs. him. Just because you can’t play exactly the way you want and freestyle mixups doesn’t mean that stage of the match does not ridiculously favor Akuma.
Well, in AE, due to the smaller hitboxes on the orbs, the lvl 3 focus actually tends to land some times now. So it made me think that it was a bug.
But if it’s intentional, then make it so that when she has Soul Satelite activated, her lvl 3 focus won’t be unblockable, rather than making it orb related.
I wonder, do you guys think about the rest of the match ups of the characters you’re asking to nerf? buff?
Repercussions from adding or removing frames on some moves beyond 2f is pretty huge. Even hit box and hurt box can break some stuff.
I’d like to be a counter-voice to what was being said near the beginning of the thread, and say that a lot of these posts are not mindless attempts to only have their character improve, nor are they typically scrubby. Now that the cynics have said their piece and vacated the premises, we can see people who are really thinking about things and conducting thoughtful analysis and provoking a constructive back-and-forth dialog. I think if this thread is to function or be purposeful it should continue in this vein.
Clearly we don’t all agree on everything, and one person’s post should not be taken as the authoritive statement on whichever character is being discussed or even as being an informed opinion–but I think it is all helpful debate to at least inform the reader on what players are perceiving to be the case about a character–which, taken for what it is, is useful data when it comes to balancing. Everyone is coming from a certain place and level of skill and it’s interesting to read what they think and decide how meritable it is.
Whether CAPCOM is reading it is another matter. Can the people in charge of the balance patch even read english?

What does that alleviate? Combo into more stuff or just tricky frame traps?
Harder to frame trap, easier combos, and the always useful 3 frame normal. It’s just better, won’t change his gameplay at all I think.
