This is patently FALSE. The “buffs” you are talking about are nothing more than returning him to his Super version, and in Super he was balanced perfectly against almost the entire cast. He had a few favorable match ups, a few terrible match ups, and the majority were 5-5. I’m not saying to buff him above his Super version, just give us that damage back (and take away the ability to combo into EX Flame from medium attacks if necessary). You are saying it is “better and more logical” to tweak other characters rather than Sim without giving any examples as to why. Sim’s changes from Super to AE dropped him down to irrelevant tier. Sim never got a chance to fight Yun with his Super damage intact, and while he would still get raped, I bet it would go a long way to making that match less retarded. I don’t need him to be like ST Sim. I just don’t want to have to work 500x harder than a braindead Yun to get a win. Make me work just 200x harder and I’m happy.
You’re missing the point. Outside of a combo, there was no reason to ever use EX Flame. It never had extra utility like EX Blast, or EX Fire. The reason to use EX Flame was the damage it did.
And now that the damage was so heavily nerfed, there is no reason to ever use EX Flame IN a combo any more either. At least when it did 180 dmg the move had utility. Making EX Flame startup faster and do 60 less damage made no sense at all. It rendered the move completely useless.
If you don’t “buff” Sim to fix his retarded match ups, then you have to nerf others to do so. Then we are back at square one. Other than slight damage nerfs to the hardest hitters and to their braindead safe pressure, I don’t want anyone nerfed. Even with Sim’s damage at Super levels he STILL will be at a disadvantage against all the same characters, but now it would be more in the realm of 6.5-3.5 rather than 8-2’s and 7-3’s. Abel/Rufus/Viper/Yun/Makoto etc., will still rape Sim, but if he can hit a little bit harder it won’t be an almost impossible match up.
For example, in Super, Makoto/Sim was very close to being a 5-5 match up. Combofiend beat Champ 5-3 with Mak in case you don’t believe me.Now in AE, Makoto got buffed like crazy and Sim got nerfed hard. So the match up is now 7-3 in Mak’s favor, it’s almost as bad as Yun/Sim. Giving Sim has Super damage back is basically all you need to do to get this match up back to being somewhat even (though it will still be in Mak’s favor due to her increased damage and health). I don’t understand the logic that says “buffing” (and I use the word buff in quotes because the buffs are really just removing his ridiculous nerfs) Sim is somehow sacrilege or game breaking.

[INDENT=1]No shit! The reason he didn’t get touched going from Vanilla to Super was because everyone else did crazy damage and he did small damage. So everyone being nerfed brought them closer together (though of course Sim still did relatively low damage). So now in AE Sim gets his damage nerfed which basically puts him back in his Vanilla position of everyone doing tons of damage and Sim having to work much, MUCH harder than everyone else to get wins. Now Sim will always have to work harder, and he should have to work harder. But the severe AE nerfs combined with the damage so many characters can do and their safe pressure means that he has no choice but to run away even longer and has to do too much work relative to the rest of the cast. I’m not expecting his Super damage to come back, but that simple change would do wonders for making him a solid mid tier character again.[/INDENT]

Also the fact that his ex flame is 14 frames now only helps because you can hit it off of a counter hit short slide. Which is alright to throw out once in awhile, but honestly i would rather save the meter for ex fires or super.I suppose you can hit it off of medium attacks, but who cares when it only does 10 more damage.

And to reitterate my previous point to LoyalSol about not acting like you aren’t ever wrong. You are right I got the information incorrect on sim’s normal changes, I went by what was listed under “AE Changes” rather than putting the effort in to look at his actual damage and compare them.
The thing about that is, you can’t revert Sim to his Super version while leaving other characters at their AE version which in some cases was nerfed.
Look at it like this, right now Dhalsim vs Guile in AE is still in Sim’s favor. Imagine now Guile receives no buffs in 2012 but Dhalsim is reverted to Super status. Suddenly Dhalsim’s matchup is much more in his favor. Changing dhalsim back to his super version affects ALL his matchups, and since you aren’t reverting everyone back to how they were in Super, any characters that were nerfed from Super to AE will have a much harder time against Dhalsim. Guile vs Dhalsim could approach an 8-2 in sim’s favor by reverting him to Super without also buffing Guile.

The reason I didn’t know off hand is because the standing jabs are worthless 95% of the time. I use them more for jab sweep combos against Abel and Sagat. They rarely are useful for block strings.
Again as I have told you. Akuma uses his crouching jabs not his standing ones.

c.mp for akuma is also +2 on block with 4f startup
c.mp for gouken 5f startup -2 on block
Goukens ONLY positive on block moves are 5f startup.(all TWO of them)
Akuma has 5 positive on block moves 3 of which are 3F startup.
Goukens normals are mediocre at BEST with only a couple exceptions. Even ON HIT his normals are only on average +3 compared to Akumas average of around +5

On a side note, can the damag in this game go up? Or would it make it too stupid? I o miss the dumb damage from SF2. And with links being the key for large damage, its not always accessible. Or can the first 2/3 hits do big damage and it gets proggrssivly worse from there. Suggestions.
