Why does PS2 Games require the PS Button, But not PS Games…
You can still play PS2 games with this. Just have a genuine PS3 controller connected to any other controller port.

So the PS3 controller has to be plugged in?
Cuz I tried it with the PS3 just registered to controller 2 and 3 (was not plugged in via charge cable) and it didn’t work.
I tested it with Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2.
I haven’t been able to get it to work with PS2 games either, I have a 60GB. It works like a charm with PS3 and PS1 games, though. It feels almost identical to my PS2 darkstalkers pad, they seem very close and the labels are identical too.
Hmm. I haven’t done it myself, so maybe I spoke too soon. But I know someone on Neogaf said they played a PS2 game with it.

Yeah, that definitely doesn’t work on a 60GB NTSC PS3. Perhaps the person who did it did it on an 80GB PS3 and the emulation makes it approach controllers differently.
