Official SEGA Saturn PC & PS2 Control Pad Thread

As i stated before he does not make em anymore. he will most likely not be coming back anytime soon. you only viable option is a FGwidget and MCC. OR your choice of PCB.

I E-mailed him a few weeks back. He said he might make a small batch, but if so, it doesn’t sound like soon. I would be really nice; that way I could use the PS button on my PS2/3 adapter and not have issues with swapping pads/sticks during tourneys. As I mentioned before, my attempt to swap a knock-off PCB into an authentic pad was a no-go since the buttons don’t map correctly on PS3 (and since the contacts on the PCB are shit). I did use it for some emulation 3rd Strike on PC and even though the jab button was effed, the hands-on made me even more sure that the Saturn pad is the way to go.

What is FGwidget and MCC? I don’t know the first thing about soldering.

ahhh cool last i chatted with him it was a no go at the time so nice to see he might be back. For the mcc and FG that is here. As for the soldering part I’m sure you can ask in the trading outlet for that service.

Here is a video about how to fix the buttons on SEGA USB controllers !

Many people come to conclusion that they are broken and throw them away -
while they could be easily fixed and become just as good as the official ones!

Do you still have the saturn ps2 pad?
How’s the condition? Any picts?

These are the two ultimate Saturn pad solutions.

Solution #1: Multi-Console modded Saturn pad. Modded with a MC Cthulhu and mini din8 connector. Individual detachable cables can be made for all the systems the MC supports (psx/ps3/pc/xbox1/gc/dc/nes/snes and even saturn)

Solution #2: FGW converter. A small project box that contains a MC Cthulhu, 360 TE pcb, Imp v2, and FGW converter. If you want 360 support you’ll have to go this route. Uses an rj45 jack for detachable system cables.

is there a converter u can buy so it will work on the xbox 360?

Gummo has given you the best options. Their is no saturn to 360 directly, you will have to convert it to PS first than a ps2 converter to 360 if you do not want to use the method Gummowned used.

Well my pcb for my custom ps1 stick is done and I have a Saturn PS2 pcb that is in my garage. Is their a solder point pic like this one any where on the net http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/sat_diagram2.jpg? Thanks in advance.

I should be able to get my hands on some Sega Saturn USB pads with the SLS stickers soon. Will I be able to remap the buttons when using it on the PS3 or will I be forced to play with the default configuration?

anyone got the mlg pro pad? whats the verdict on that one?

Hey guys! Huge numbers of the PlaySega (rebranded SLS) usb controllers on eBay. They’re about $8 apiece, or $10 for two. There’s even a whole lot of 840 for 3600, something like $4.29 apiece…

I was told that the quality of the d-pad is far inferior to the SLS USB’s one and there’s also no start button, only select.
