The tier list seems accurate. I only really play Brawl when I go online with various e-friends, though, so it’s not like it’s going to affect me greatly. I like Bowser’s placement though. It intrigues me.
It is a tad too early, really. This tier list is mostly echoing everyone’s thoughts already, save for a few odd placements.
Though I’d have thought Olimar placed a little higher.
shhhhhh. Keep ZSS low on tier list so no one will think she is a threat. That’s like the biggest advantage we have.
I’ve been playing ZSS since the game came out, I do agree with ZSS in mid tier. On the surface, her movesets really aren’t that good on a per move basis compared to the characters above her. She doesn’t have that one move that just makes her own face. All her moves are just alright. But its really when you learn how to string them all together that brings out her potential. Definately a strange character.
Thx for the info about DK I figured it must of been his air game that made him good, and I damn well know why lucario is good my friend has been playing them for awhile and I went from lucario isn’t that good to damn lucario.
*fixed
yeah I have been playing ZSS after week 1 when I stopped playing marth.
the thing with ZSS is once she hits you your going to be under pretty insane pressure for at least 5-10 seconds. but if you get in her face she has really no flat out good point blank attack, you have to either jump out and/or mix them up.
up B should be her defining move, its just so OMG.
How did I know people were going to overact to that?
I’m not saying it’s balanced (it’s not) and I’m not saying all the characters are great (they’re not.) I’m simply saying that I think this game lacks any horrendous characters.
example: I dont find any brawl character as bad as melee mewtwo.
Really? Not even Falcon? Mewtwo might be one of the worst (ranked last), but I honestly think Kirby is worse in that game. I think you were trying to pick the worst characte, but maybe you were just trying to think of a bad Melee character. Eh, I am rambling. Both games aren’t the epitome in balance in my opinion.
Even Smash 64 probably had better balance than both those fighters, however bad the game mechanic balance is (most moves and defensive options were jokes lol). Even ST has a bad character like T hawk and that thing is pretty well balanced. There are relatively bad characters in the game and the gap is not that small.
I find Ganon and Falcon in Brawl to be worse than any character in Melee. I actually felt more comfortable playing Kirby and Pichu then than I do Ganon or Falcon now.
Not really an overreaction…just saying. I think some of the characters in Brawl are just horrible, especially in comparison to the rest of the cast.
I don’t really think any of these characters compare to any melee characters at all. Melee characters run under different restrictions and different engine mechanics entirely.
No game is really balanced, either. There’ll always be someone for the very bottom and likewise a small group for the top. There is an obvious difference between Captain Falcon and Meta-Knight’s priority, power, matchups, etc. But at least in this game a good Capt. Falcon stands a chance against a good Meta-Knight, even if it’s still an uphill battle. That, I think, is the key difference.
for the most part I agree with you cpt falcon vs meta-knight is still pretty hopeless in my opinion, but you can win it, plus it has probably the largest cast of characters without having any banned, or it being as bad as MvC2(cause they would have to ban like 1/3 the cast if not more and then it wouldn’t be MvC2, it would just be some steriotypical fighter).
BTW there was a perfectly balanced fighter, Street Fighter I, all matchups were 5:5. *wink.
I have nothing to add that I agree with your assertion.
However, I don’t count SF1, Yie Air Kung Fu, et al XP.
Yes, it does. Everything is looser (meaning ‘bad’ characters are much closer to ‘good’ characters) and they shift around a bit. Its not terribly drastic, though, and we need more people playing very seriously this way if we ever want to see which characters really are the best in All-Brawl.
Offtopic- Played 100 matches vs E.Pants with all items and all stages the other day. 1 unavoidable death to spawning explosives. 0 times did either of us feel the heart or tomato changed the outcome of the match. I’ll be posting videos soon.
I play both ganon and falcon, and I beast with them. Yes, they suck, (I think falcon will end up being better once people realize that you can’t play him like melee falcon anymore.) but they do have advantages and useful tools.
I see falcon moving up from worst char but not out of low tier.
I play ganon alot cause he can make your head aspload, but in all seriousness yeah you “can” win with ganondorf against most ppl, but if you want to get lol killed, try playing him against Dedede, pikachu,ZSS,falco, pit, and WOLF(screw that match). If you win either you got lucky/ did some kickass mind games, or they can’t play as that character.
When most people say why falcon his the worst of the worst they all say this: He lacks the hitstun he had from melee. He just can’t combo anymore.
Combos overall were made into almost a non-exsistant feature in this game, but falcon suffers more from this change than most characters because that’s what made him good in melee.
I can see why falcon not being bottom is such a hot topic. I’m not saying he’s good, but I think he’d get moved up if people stopped trying to play him like melee falcon. But eh, no need to even debate. as only time will tell.
This might be just because I main G&W/Wolf, but I totally agree that Falcon is a hopelessly bad character. Hardly ever is there a situation where he has options that I would call “good.” He can’t approach, he folds under pressure, he has no projectiles, no speed, no priority, no range.
For a Falcon to win against at least half the cast the person not playing falcon just has to plain suck. You don’t even have to know matchups or general character strategy to beat a captain falcon, because if you can think of a brickwall tactic within your first stock it’s more than likely that he won’t be able to get around it for the rest of the match.
The only time I’ve had trouble beating a falcon player was when he switched characters for the second match.
The fact is that somebody has to be on the bottom, and I challenge you to name a character worse than captain falcon.
Is it normal that I have this feeling that Sonic will move up the tiers soon? He doesn’t actually seem that bad to me; he’s just very difficult to use efficiently. Sure, he has priority issues, but other than that, he’s really good at racking up damage and contrary to what lots of people say, he does have kill moves (smashes, uair, bair).
Jigglypuff? Not much competition for Falcon in that area.
Well, Sonic has won like three tournies if I remember the list of who won what tourament list a while ago, but Sonic definitely isn’t that good of a character. Priority is problem, not having good options out of sheild is a problem, having hard to land kill moves that are not that great of kill moves in the first place is also a problem. At most he is mid tier…but I think he will be low tier unless more people start using him, but I doubt people will. Or…items are used then he will be much better.
SWF (obligatory neg repped post).
Hard to land kill moves is right. Other than a stutter smashed f-smash (and even that is slow as fuck) sonic almost always has to gimp.
I’d say ROB moves up a spot or two (if not becoming the best in the game) and Ganon becomes the worst character in existance. That, and it’s more difficult to rate Samus/Zamus since you DO have to take into consideration that, with Final Smashes on, she faces a pretty bad/odd situation.
