A little something about DR;
Recently, Castro Valley GolfLand’s machine had been experiencing “lag” or long “loading” times. After fights, “New Challenger” screen, upon return to the Character Select Screen, Character Select Screen “lags” the loading of The Character Select screen music… etc etc. These were all times when the game would “lag.”
Just last week the machine finally gave up and went kaput. I believe it had something to do with the DVD drive.
I noticed a very, very slight lag on the SFSU machine a few months ago but today it was 10 times worse, at least. The machine hangs while loading music of the character select screen, before fights, it hangs after you pick your character and before you are able to pick a level. (There shouldn’t be any lag there. Today I was experiencing maybe 5-15 seconds of hang-time) almost all the times that the CV machine used to hang and lag.
It is very evident, especially when you pick Mokujin (wooden tree fighter who goes random character every round.) The game hangs in between rounds for 20-30 seconds.
I just thought I should let you know Poolboss, before the machine craps out like CVGL’s did. It might be worth looking in to.

but give Poolman a break … SFSU’s arcade is pretty damn good, he’s doing a good job.
Whenever there are problems with games, they usually get resolved quickly.
Whatever, just my 2 cents … prolly be there 2morrow for some 3S, hope CVS players come out.

Yeah Jeebus, you guys have been stomping on him HARD. And I’m not just saying this cause I ‘got my request fulfilled already’ but God damn non stop asking might just annoy him don’t you think. I say be glad with what we have and if you don’t like it then don’t play, I mean I kept playing when 3s was on small cab. Alot of people actually tell me that our arcade is the rare ones that has all good working controls pretty much 24/7, we should cherish it and thank PB instead!

Nobody is stomping on poolboss… and nobody has said he is not doing a good job or the arcade is not good, but Tekken 5 DR is seriously to expensive, and now the lifebar is messed up… the players who requested the lifebar to be raised don’t even play at state anymore…I think I am not gonna be playing DR at state while the lifebar is maxed, because no other machine in norcal has that max lifebar and other arcades hold tournaments for DR that I might want to attend and playing on diffrent lifebars changes the game and how one plays.

I think the others here will agree that if history has anything to say about the fighting games at state, it’s that plenty of patience will pay off, eventually. That, and the occasional complaining doesn’t hurt.
I’ll let him know about the lag on the game.

Nah, I think I will go and play T5DR with max health with a new character instead of jack-5, cause with the max health I am sure I can get better with him quicker… cause I suck with certain character that I want to get good with so why not just use the max health to do that… I prob won’t be using him in any tournaments soon anyway. I do think it should be changed to either +2 or normal health bar to make it more fair for every character, but for now I won’t say anything.

Don’t say that during the regular semester. There are these guys that hang aroung the Games Room at 8:30 on thursdays like a Mervyn’s commercial that clean up minutes after the game is refilled. If you want, I’ll point them out to you and you can personally challenge them.
