Sucessfully upgraded to 3.71 M33+1.5kernel patch. Whew, that’s a lot. I had to wait for my PSP to charge to 78% first, or else it’ll say “Your PSP needs to be 3.52-4 M33” Don’t let that fool you if you already have 3.52-/-4, that’s just the battery precaution, or you actually DON’T have -3/-4 updates, then you’ll have to. All of my homebrew is working fine with the kernel patch–SNESTyl, DGEN, PPA, MGSPO+, all that.
PRECAUTION!!!
If you’re wanting to do custom theme officially through Sony’s builtin utility, make sure you restore defaults first, or you’ll have yourself a FULL brick (yeah, no recovery either). If you don’t, and you get the BSOD anyway, POWER DOWN MANUALLY or PRESS START. Pressing O will give you the full brick.
had a chance to try the slim psp earlier. d-pad is def better…I was able to do supers and everything in alpha3. I think I will get one since I am not really into homebrew crap anyway and cps1/cps2 already works for the slim !
I’m not into the homebrew shit either, but I’d like for the rest of the emulators to be updated already. I was getting a kick out of Dgen and GBsp before I made the switch.
Fucking awesome that they had already gotten CPS2/MVS working by the time I had gotten mine.
So yeah. People are receiving (news sites anyway) their God of War Chains of Olympus I’m Not Saying The Rest Of That Long Ass Title, the Demo, today.
Ign has their impressions up and PSPfanboy will have theirs up pretty soon too.
So did any SRKers get it yet? I know I signed up for it but I also requested a Jean D’ Arc demo and got jack shit. And I’m a bloody GAP member. I shouldn’t even have to sign up for anything. I should just get it in the mail.
I’ve been doing some reading, and lemme get this straight: there’s NO way for me to get online at any wi-fi enabled public place for free, unless I’m jacking somebody’s unprotected wireless signal?
Unless the owners of the wi-fi hotspot allows unsecured access to the network (or provides credentials for nada), then yeah you’ll have to nick other ppl’s wireless bandwidth to play online.
Places like mom and pop restaurants, cafes and fast food like McDonalds and Burger King have free wi-fi. Hotels and places like Barnes and Nobles charge for the crap.
Alright, I got a slim PSP a few days ago and have been trying to keep an eye on whats going on with the Slim homebrew scene. Now that I saw someone has cracked CPS1/CPS2 Its definitely time to throw on custom firmware.
Does anyone know the exact route I need to take?
My slim is still running 3.60
I saw somewhere say to get to 3.71 M33 I need to have 3.51 M33 or something installed beforehand?
My roommate has an old style PSP so I can make a Pandora battery if needed, and I have a copy of Lumines if that is needed, but I can’t find anywhere that gives a good walkthrough specifically for the slim. I’d rather not dive headfirst into a walkthrough only to get 80% through it and brick my PSP because it wasn’t intended for slims.
If you can make a Pandora’s Battery, Lumines will not be required, as that was to downgrade from 3.50 I believe. Just Jigkick the PSP back to 1.5>M33 3.52-1>M33 3.52-3>M33 3.71
Not that I know of, but there’s talk (emphasis on talk as in nothing in the works yet) of the Daedalus dev team upgrading their N64 emu for the Slim… should probably see much better results than on the Fat…
