You have to downgrade to 1.50 first using the Lumines or GTA:LCS exploit. Or you can use the Pandora’s Battery method to install the CF of your choice.

I’m utterly dissapointed that he kept him self behind a secret as M33… When he left the scene and left off on 3.40 OE, M33 was the PSP scene’s only hope. Now it turns out that M33 was in fact just DA, there’s no one who can make custom firmware to the standards he has. As posative as this all is, it’s truely a sad time for the PSP scene…

Exactly… fucked up news. If something happens to D_A, the scene will grind to a halt (and hopefully another dev can pick up the slack, but that could potentislly take months… like the old Devhook days).

You’re absolutely right on that. We can only hope that he pass his knowledge to somebody else to keep carrying his legacy. In a spanis hinterview he said that the police was investigating him, so hiding behind a fake identity was the only hope he had to continue on his work.

And somebody snitched and leaked his identity online… which is why he revealed his identity with this latest update, and is planning on ceasing CFW development.

I guess one homebrew fatty PSP and one clean PSP slim & lite works, but then again the only game I like on higher firmware is Crisis Core and that already runs on the current fatty CFW.

But it seems that Crisis Core runs slow as hell on Classic PSPs, and I don’t see a reason for NOT having CF in a PSP by today.

I don’t know about US forums, but at least a spanish videogame forum that I know has listed many PSP users from Spain and Latin America who have offered without asking for anything in return to help a fellow PSP user that lives near them to downgrade his/her PSP w/ the Pandora method. There should be a similar list for the US where you can find someone who would do the trick near you.

Not at all; the seplugins folder goes right in the root of your Memory Stick.

I think you may be able to buy a used PSP from gamestop for a day, use it for the pandora method, and then return it. If so, I’m getting a slim! the only thing stopping me from getting a slim is not being able to downgrade it easily…

Any Kingdom Hearts fans… KH Birth by Sleep was announced at TGS… here are some scans.

The ‘Crisis Core engine’ is finished (which helps develop future games quicker and cheaper), Crisis Core is a big seller… we’ll most likely see more SquareEnix PSP games in the future. Although the only SE games I’d be interested in would be… Einhander. Or Grandia. Based on what I’ve seen of FFXIII, I wouldn’t mind seeing a PSP spinoff of that.

(This goes for celcius too): You should use SNES9XTYL++ beta with an updated snesadvance.dat. As soon as I get home tomorrow (I’m staying at a friend’s house tonight for some fights) I’ll upload those files, with recommendations on optimal configuration. The difference with the arcade emulators that you mentioned, is that they are all coded from scratch directly for PSP, just like gpSP, while SNES9XTYL is a port from the emulator for PC, SNES9X. Try using always PSP Accelerated + Accurate software, 333 Mhz, Auto frameskip, and Vsync disabled. After that, it’s only a matter of knowing the hacks that will help, which come in the file that I’ll provide ASAP. Meanwhile, get the latest official version, you need it to use the files; it’s 0.4.2 ME.

As I said, the problem with SNES9XTYL is that it’s a ported emulator. The only way to get one that works with excellent performance (like CPS1, CPS2 and MVS) is coding it from scratch specifically for the PSP.

I just gave it a try and now it runs much better, thanks :tup:
