Played the demo for a couple hours. I like the faster movement, but still ain’t buying this. 1: no MP. 2: they force you to use the touchscreen too damn much when a simple button press is all that’s needed (I ran around for 10 damn minutes in the building trying to pick up that fucking treasure in the burning building, pressing square like a madman). These bastards managed to turn an optional feature into a mandatory nintendo-esque gimmick. Fuck that. If they make a sequel that fixes either one of those complaints, I have a high probability of buying it.

Picking up the treasure ain’t that bad, just convince yourself that the right side of the screen is a button. There are far worse motion/touch stuff. One part you have to hold this paper up to the light so you could see through it. It is dark in my living room, I keep it that way because of my plasma TV to avoid glare. I held the Vita up for a good couple of minutes moved around, but had to get up out of my chair and go to my bathroom that the sun was shining in to pass that part. No way in hell could you do that part in the dark. There are the parts where you pick up an old relic, and have to rub the dirt off of it. Shit like that should only be once, then optional skip.
One part that pissed me off the most was, a cutscene and I see all this treasure or clues flashing on the screen. Camera is panning and switching angles showing me it all, I’m waiting for the cutscene to be over to pick up all that stuff. Cutscene is over, on to next location. :mad:
They should have said to touch screen items, there really isn’t any clue that I saw, that you had to do that. Next time that happened, I mad sure to touch them and still missed some because the camera switches pretty fast.
Overall still feel the game is great,too much rubbing though. You will rub skin/dirt right off your fingers onto the Vita itself, that is why I bought a screen protector.I would hate for a piece of dust to be trapped on my finger and then rub a scratch right into the screen. I’m going to clean off my Vita today apply it, got 2 chances.
Uncharted 2,I played less than 3 hours MP.
Uncharted 3, I have played 0 hours.
I enjoy them for the singleplayer, but can see how people enjoy the multiplayer.
Any word on Final Fantasy Type-0? Hopefully they put it on Vita,since PSP is hacked to death and ain’t really going to sell games at retail. Hope they can upconvert it, instead of just giving the PSP version. I’ll take either though.
Hey, I just bought my first game cartridges for my ps vita (I downloaded katamari off the ps store) and when I put either of them in it starts installing, but it freezes mid installation. Anyone else have this problem or know how to solve this? Katamari works fine but these games just don’t seem to work for me. I’m thinking it’s just the system itself that’s not functioning right.

edit: never mind, just held down the power button for 10 seconds and clicked the option rebuild the database and it works now. Apparently mine was corrupt.
So, that bypass to download whatever PSP games onto the Vita, I’m assuming that it doesn’t work with the Minis? I got a boatload of Minis I’d like to try out because Plus was giving them away a dime a dozen a few months ago.
Sony is working on it, it said Minis you bought will work fine(like anybody bought them), Minis you got through PS+ are having a validation error.
I have a ton too through PS+.
I downloaded a couple of PSP demos onto my PS3, but the Vita through the Content Manager is not seeing them. Is it a specific list of secretly compatible games?
So after some readjustment, I can hold it for extended periods of time without cramping up so it definitely beats out the 3DS for comfort. Both Sony and Nintendo’s handhelds seem to be getting less and less ergomonic. The DS lite is more comfortable then the DSi, the DSi is more comfortable than the 3DS and the PSP is more comfortable than the PS Vita.
Please tell me you have an update on how FF Tactics PSP works on Vita…

We’re gonna need us some more heavy hitters (Action, fighting) on the Vita, stat. Capcom? How 'bout some RE? Not a port of a psx game, though. Anything from 4 up to RCC would be fine. Or REmake. Hey, if a franchise is retired, that just means no sequels, right? They can still port/allow ports, like Bloody Roar 1 and 2 showing up on psn. How about Bloody Roar 1-3, all on the same cart, with netplay for 3?
PSPgo is the worst of them all, not only was it tiny, it had sharp edges. So I have to say, Vita is a step up from that, a big step.
Have you tried the Bi-liner filtering? Not saying it works, I tried it on Dracula X Chronicles and didn’t notice any difference. Dracula X looks dope on the Vita, colors pop out, Belmont is a Little Jaggy guy, close to Atari 2600. :wow: Game is still dope though.
Would be nice of them to port Revelaitons, I got it on 3DS but still waiting on Gamestop to get in more Circle Pad Pros, I already paid it off. If I didn’t have my Vita, I would just use the default 3DS controls. Knowing there is a 2nd stick option out there, I have to have it.

The communities to me isn’t the biggest issue, the price is. I boycotted that game on principle, heard it lags like crazy online too, so that is a major negative.
Should be $20 tops, it’s just a port of a $13 PSN game, $0.99 on the phones. They are trying to take advantage of the brand new Vita crowd. I passed on that and Asphalt on principle. May pick up DHA later though, because I love those types of games. Maybe in another B2G1.
To activate the PSP options, you hold your finger on the screen for a couple seconds then the menu overlays on top. The game is not paused, so you might want to pause first if you are in that type of situation to lose something. I luckily on Dracula X, was on top of a platform, then I seen a zombie still running underneath me.
I’m not sure I trust this “digital games cheaper” thing. Store prices drop, while digital prices, outside of sales that may not affect the title you want, never seem to.
digital games are cheaper but you end up buying more memory and cant trade them in!
X-mas been having some great sales across the board on PSN.
I picked up Persona 3 Portable & Valkyria Chronicles II for around $15, Dracula X for $8, but yeah the sales are too far between.
Persona 3 is back to $40, and probably will be for a few months at least.
X-mas time the past 2 years had some impulse purchases, never before that, hope it continues.
I bought my 16GB card from Amazon, and said I’m only buying 3 more hard copies and then it’s digital here on out. I decided the other day when I went to work and brought Uncharted, I wish I had UMVC3 instead and didn’t bring my game case. Now I got the travel pack, and the plastic game case holds 8 games plus 2 memory cards. Once I feel that up, I might be strictly digital.
On new games at least.
I’m gonna have to take a look at that crazy taxi psp for 5 bucks when I get home today…

Seriously, though, I think it’s gonna come to the same thing like current psp titles: games as low as $19.99 after 7 or so months, but that same game on psn/whatever it is now: same spiffy 35.95. They should check the websites of stores, and maintain a discount opposed to store prices. You can get Tekken 6 psp for like 14.99 new at lamestop, but the digital version is$40?! Insanity, and I’m afraid it will happen again. And speaking of the psp digital library: Sony, get with it, man. Cut them prices. 4.99 to 9.99 for the oldest games, 9.99 to 14.99 for more recent games, 14.99 to 19.99-MAYBE 24.99 sounds reasonable for the most recent titles.
