Ya Stu good choice and plus you can get some of RPGS dubbed in English. Nice to play some rare Square,Enix and Japan RPGs that was import only or too damn high at the time. Playing God of War Ghost of Sparta the full game out peeps
Kotaku rumors on PSP2. āHDā screen, bigger and track pad on the back?
Edit: thinking about it the track pad might be a replacement for a second analog in particular for fps if itās true. I wanna see it.
Sounds uncomfortableā¦
If it hasnt been talked about yet⦠I suggest picking up Cladun.
Probably one of the best PSP games I have played.
(If you enjoy 8-bit styled dungeon crawlers with massive item hunting, MADE BY NIS!)
Cladun was good, but Z.H.P. is worlds better and is also a NIS game. Just came out today (on PSN).
Hereās the unconfirmed look of the PSP successorā¦if theyāre going the āripoff the iPhoneā route then they can keep that. Does have Android 3.0 in it though.
I doubt that this Sony Ericsson is going to be a true successor to the PSP, for three main reasons: Itās missing the analog, and that prevents backwards compatibility; it has no āPSPā label on it, and if you donāt want a phone contract, then you wouldnāt have access to the game.
As for a PSP 2, hopefully Sony will learn from their mistakes, and from otherās success. Nintendo hasnāt stayed #1 in handheld gaming for two decades for no reason. Their consoles, while inferior technologicly, were far more efficient. Yes, you could get a Lynx, but the GameBoy was cheaper, had more games, and had better battery life. Iām not trying to play Nintendo fanboy, I own both a PSP and 2 DS models. But if they want the PSP2 to sell, they better do the following:
-Make a better design: Sliding is great for making a eye catching phone to sell to teens, but sucks for a game console. The GBA-SP and all DS models folded in half, and so should the PSP2. That way, you can put it in your pocket and not worry about messing up the screen. Also, listen to your fans. Put that 2nd Analog stick on the system, and make is work better.
-Make it do everything: While the PSP was advertised as a portable media player, it sucked as such. No built in memory, expensive memory cards, and extremely limited playback support hinders this. Make it play everything under the sun, give it at least 8 gigs of memory built in, and maybe take Micheal Pacterās advice and add a nice camera to it. Also, redesign the MP3 functions. Has anyone ever tried to play the PSP in the car?
-Fight Piracy: This is one of the biggest issues with the PSP. Maybe have it auto-connect and update like the new DS does, or have the games download updates without prompting. If all the games get pirated, then companies stop making good PSP games.
Sorry for the wall of text
A few weeks back I read on a Japanese site that Sonyās been planning a PS Phone AND PSP2. Guess that rumor panned out.
I disagree with quite a few things you said⦠but I donāt know if itās just because I was a day one (Dec 12
2004) PSP adopter, before other portable media devices even. But I agree that Sony should definitely take a page from Nintendo on how to be successful in the handheld arena.
I DO wish they had told the truth about the pspās file compatibility. They shouldāve just said āonly mp4ā. They had people thinking you could just drop regular avi files in there and watch them without re-encoding them. Next psp should have the same file compatibility as the ps3. Then they can add a few more features, and maybe go with the slogan āit only does everythingā¦anywhereā.
They screwed up by never bundling the system with transfer software. But that was because they wanted to push their shitty ripoff UMD movies, instead of admitting that thereās nothing stopping the hardware from playing rips of your home video collection. Thankfully UMD will be dead and buried next handheld gen.
I tried getting PSN games how you mentioned, Taito. No dice. I want puzzle quest 2 bad. God damnit.
In regards to the conversation, I look at the psp the same way I look at the iPhone. Itās full potential isnāt unlocked until you hack it. Itās amazing what this device can do, even today.
Media Go or PSN Lover? I donāt have Wifi right now so I canāt try PSNL. Media Go is working for me right now (but I donāt see Puzzle Quest 2/Galactrix listed??)
for reals? GOTTA CHECK OUT
Yeah, Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman is fantastic. It is like a Disgaea rogue-like. Randomly generated dungeons, traps, tons of equipment with special attacks, customization, and a unique leveling system.
Every time you enter a dungeon you start at level 1. At the end of the dungeon your Level is added to your Total Level. Both your Level and Total Level make your base stats. When you die, you lose your Levels and they are added to your Total Level. You also lose any equipment that is not in storage as well as all your money. Turning off the game counts as dying (only if you are in a dungeon).
Equipment gives stat bonuses (or minuses) based on a percentage of your base stats. Each item can have a special attack, some sort of boost (like range attack up or spike immunity), both or neither. All equipped items have graphics. You can equip Head, Left Hand, Right Hand, Armor, Accessory.
OOooo so its like a completely different game.
Wtf, so you arent supposed even turn off the system to play another game? Wtf wtf
Okā¦so the explanation was not worded very well. If you save the game in town and turn it off, then you will lose nothing. If you save in a dungeon and turn off the game, then you die. The game also autosaves anytime that you die so that you cannot cheat the system. When you die you, the levels that you gained in the dungeon are added to your Total Level, but you do not lose your Total Level when dead.
EDIT: You also get extra added stats every time you die. The amount added is based on your Total Level. So dying is not all bad.
so its more turn based right? any co-op?
Itās: (you take a step, baddies take a step)xN. No co-op.

For the Persona fans, theyāre porting Innocent Sin to PSP though no word on a US localization
As a Kamen Rider fan, I must buy ZHP. How big is the PSN DL?
