I recently unearthed my PSP from the attic, it’s the original fat PSP, picked it up on launch day. So the battery life ain’t so hot anymore. Looks like some of the comments here would seem like I can use the current batteries they sell for the 2000 and 3000 models on my old ass 1000? I want to buy the extended battery, anyone know if this will work?

No, when you buy a game it is not tied to PSN.
That is the #1 reason PSPGo is stupid as hell.
Games cost the same if not more, and your selection of them is limited.

It’s because retailers felt threatened by a handheld system that didn’t require physical software. They forced Sony to jack up the price for Go and PSN software, or they wouldn’t sell PSP anymore (not like anybody buys PSP anymore)

It’s the other way around, 1000 batteries work on 2000/3000. But don’t worry, there are plenty of 1000 batteries still around.

Is there anyway I can get puzzle quest 2 since it’s psn only? It wants me to update and fuck that. I bought it on live but want it portable.

You can buy PSN games through your PC with Sony’s Media Go.

I have not tried PSNLover yet, but it’s supposed to let you buy PSN games through your PSP, bypassing PSN restriction of custom firmware. There’s nothing wrong with Media Go, but you can try PSNL if you’re against installing Sony software on your PC.

I bought mine just for the Star Ocean remakes and KH: Birth by Sleep. :lol:
I don’t really plan on buying anything else except maybe Lunar: Silver Star Harmony and importing Breath of Fire III. MAYBE Persona and Persona 3 for my girlfriend if she wants them.

Also, with that said, I think I’d be more open to modding. Play some old school GEN and SNES RPG’s that haven’t played in forever.

It’s been over 50 hours of Phantasy Star Portable 2 now for me… I was going to make Lion-O and The Orkin Man (CAST ranger/vanguard) today, but my main character just hit level 80 and can finally use this badass S-rank sword I found a few days ago…ohhhhh it’s so good. RIDICULOUS damage, folks.

One of my dumbass friends always confuses Final Fantasy with Phantasy Star, and it is beyond annoying. Year after year whenever the topic comes up, I always have to clarify "No…not Final Fantasy…Phantasy Star is completely different…(and infinitely better than that piss-ass franchise could ever hope to be, but that’s simply my eternally hateful opinion of course)"

I’ll try that then. Puzzle Quest 1 was better by a large factor on the psp compared to the ds because of the screen.

You might want to consider Persona Remake, Persona 3 Portable, Jeanne D’Arc, and Valkyria Chronicles 2.

Out of the ones I mentioned, I really enjoy VC2. I also played through to the end of P3P, but I didn’t really like the story/dialogue much, just the dungeon crawling and getting new demons.
