Official PSVita/PSP chat thread

According to Sega of America prez, “…it’s not an if, but a when.”

So get ready, I just hope that US and JP players can party up. As quick as I can get to lv50, I don’t feel like starting from scratch again.

Has anyone tried remote play for Bionic Commando: Rearmed? The control input is laggy to the point of unplayable. I have the original PSP…is there a big difference on the slim PSP? I’m just curious…I have no intention of getting the slim PSP.

My friend said something about reducing the stream quality to get better input. Try that and see if it works.

ah yes, this is perfect. I wasn’t sure if I could resist the temptation to import much longer…plus it would be annoying to deal with a game where all text is in another language that is completely alien to me.

PSOW forums have an entire forum devoted to Phantasy Star Portable, btw. I posted there a long time ago, but can’t even remember my password anymore at this point. I actually miss those days of being obsessed with the Phantasy Star universe…this game will hopefully bring the addiction back.

Damn, I’m officially ballin’ with my 8GB a week after purchase. I’ve finally got all my music, all my homebrew, movies and TV episodes, oodles of ISO games, and music.prx (lets you play music anywhere on the system i.e. XMB, internet, games, etc.) finally works for 4.01 M33!

I’m in heaven…

I’ve lurked PSOW since they made the section, so far it’s been pretty good to me, helping out where my Japanese fails(which isn’t too often). But yeah, go get the demo if you want, just to get a taste of what you’re getting into. It’s basically PSU in portable format with a new story mode, less walking to get to shit(all menu-driven town areas), and more items.

Yes, it is all possible. If you’re using a virtual memory card on your PS3, you can just attach your PSP and copy it directly back and forth (it will auto-convert them for you).

If you want to use a real memory card, though, you’ll need to buy a memory card adapter.

awesome! so there’s no other shit I need to do, it’s all already there :lovin:

I don’t have a PS3, so I’ll explain what I did. I bought a DexDrive (device to connect your PS1 MC to your PC), then extracted my saves, used a program to convert them to ePSXe save files, then used CWCheat to convert them to Pops save files.

cool

but I could get the thing to convert PSX/PS2 to PS3 save files, and then put em on my PSP (well, I wouldn’t put PS2 save files on there…)

Actually, if you have a modded PS2 there’s an easier method without the need of a dexdrive. Get a copy of ULaunchELF for PS2. By using that program (which you can download for free and burn to CD) in conjunction with a PSP USB cable, you can turn the PSP itself into a dexdrive.

Whoa, enlighten me about this with more detail :0!

Ditto’d. Except mine was 4gb. I could have bought a 8gb for almost the same price, but didn’t feel like waiting for shipment and all that. Impulse buy FTL. Then again I found 20 bucks in my couch yesterday, so it wasn’t too bad.

I’ve had my PSP since the day PSP came out, but I have only bought like 6-7 games for it, and I only have 4 cause I lost the rest…I’m still at 2.7 firmware.

Time for pandora. I haven’t homebrew’d since 1.5 :frowning:

Hmm, nvm, I just downgraded it to 1.5, didn’t realize I could do that if I had 2.71.

Anybody know how much a PSP2000 trades in for at Gamestop (or anywhere else) now?

I plan to get rid of mine very soon in anticipation of the 3000

Now that people are upgrading to the 3000 series it looks like a good time for me to pick up a cheap slim psp…

Alright, in order for this to work you need the following:

-Modded PS2 capable of playing burned CD-Rs
-Copy of UlaunchELF
-PSP
-PSP to USB Cable

Alright, so you’ve burned yourself a copy of UlaunchELF to CD-R and have it booted up. It’ll open up a massive directory tree showing everything on your PS2. Including all memory cards and, if your PSP (now plugged into your PS2) is in USB mode, the PSP’s memstick as well. From this point you can use UlaunchELF to copy the RAW Save Folder of the game to your PSP’s memory stick. So you now have your PSX game on your PSP in RAW form. From here, you can convert the folder into the savetype read by CWCheat and then run it off the PSP in popsloader.

If you’ve got any more questions, I’ll be glad to help. :wgrin:

Okay, Secret Asian man, this is where i need your help.

Let me make sure I’m on the same page here. If I get my psx files onto my ps3 via my memory card adapter, I can then attach my psp to my ps3 and copy the files over? It converts them automatically and whatever iso of whatever game I have in my psp will read those files, right?

Where do I store save files for an iso? Or are they created automatically? The reason I’m asking is that I will probably never finish suikoden II unless I can play it on my psp. So if I rip my own copy of the game, I can use these memory card files, right?

I officially heart my PSP again. :lovin:

Save files for PSX games in your PSP are created in the SAVEDATA folder (or you can copy the save file into it). Latest Popstation version has a MC manager that might help you. I don’t know much about PS3 interactions, though, as I’m too poor to own one :(.

Turbovec, I’ll stay in touch with you.

Oh, guys… just to let you know:

Already tried 3S, runs slow, but who cares, IT RUNS! And it’s a port of FBA that has just started development.
