There isn’t one. Even Super Ribbon and Genji Shield don’t give bonuses.
However, there’s another way. Before I got my Genji Shield, I used Status Ward and Hell Thundaga, which protected me from Poison, Silence, Stop, and Death and freed up my equipment slots for things like Protect Ring and Wizard Bracelet.
Cool. So how would you go about making materia with ATK + 100 etc? I.e where to start, what item to use and so forth. I can’t make any sense out of the FAQ on gfaqs…

like someone said, try taking out the battery. And re-inserting it , i’ve had this problem once or twice but I believe its hardware and not a software related problem. Better yet, best thing you could do to find out is go back to official fw and see if it fixes the problem, if so then hey. If not, then get a new battery.

This guide has to be possibly the worst guide to understand ever. SE I guess are partly to blame for making the rediculous system, but surely it could be a little easier to find out how to make a certain Materia. Take this for example, “to make Goblin Punch, you need to mix Goblin Punch/Libra and Goblin Punch.” This doesn’t make one bit of sense, since I don’t have Goblin Punch in the first place to make it, how the hell? Seriously, as good as this game is, it makes me glad to be a FFVIII fan…

I just played a bunch of CPS2 games on my friends homebrewed PSP. It’s pretty dope, I think I’ll homebrew my Kratos PSP come June.
I know this will go wrong despite which one I choose, but I figured I would at least check the feedback anyway…I’ve heard/seen different pins as the one you’re supposed to cut on a slim battery when making Pandora.

So far, this happens to be the only person showing this with clear, non-crappy picture/video quality. The guy from “that forum” would seem like the logical choice, but 1) that thread was started last year. 2) my battery’s circuit board looks exactly like the one in the 2nd picture…the guy from “that forum” happened to have a terrible camera, so I’m not sure if there are differences considering how old his posts are. I’m still leery of trusting some random dude’s footage of cutting a pin on youtube, when I know 99% of people on the internet are asshole pieces of shit that should be killed…it wouldn’t surprise me if they purposely put out incorrect information specifically to fuck people over.
I’ll go with my gut instinct and follow the guy from that forum, since this subject matter is what that forum is all about. I’d feel a lot better about this if that guy’s camera didn’t suck ass, so I could see if his circuit board was different.
ah, now there’s a “trace-cut” method as well.(apparently it’s no longer necessary to cut the pin itself)…ah, and that picture is clear as a bell…

You can pretty much just follow what I posted for making the HP +999% Curaga but switch the Fat Chocobo Feathers with Hero Drinks.
Amazingly, my Jinx Effect power didn’t ruin things this time…I now have custom firmware (3.71):woot: A thousand things could’ve gone wrong…I am genuinely surprised everything went well. I used the “trace-cut” method of course. This is actually the first system I’ve ever modded…it’s a good feeling.
So i was actually gonna break down and get a psp recently when my younger cousin mentioned that he has an “extra” psp he’ll give me for free. Well i found out today why, The screen in cracked but you only notice it when you turn it on. I took it anyways and called Sony up and they told me they would replace the psp for 70 bucks.
So yeah psp for 70 bucks makes me happy.
I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go back to the official FW. I think I read somewhere that I can’t just do a regular software update, that would brick the PSP. What do I need to do to go back to official FW? I’m on custom FW 3.5.something.
I got you man, what you gotta do is practice. You grab something that has what you want.
Like I had Goblin Punch +spr or some crap.
grabbed a regular goblin punch.
Then use the best attack item if you have. Just use 1 for start.
I.E. Like sep said hero drink or 3 pwr stones. just to start the atk power up move.
Then check what it will make.
Hopefully Goblin punch atk10 or 20
That’s the base, it seems like different people have different methods of getting things. LIke i got my curaga %999 from moving a libra around its crazy.
IMHO i find it easy to play around with fusion with materia that has what i want already.
See what item can add the feature you need. and or change it.
If you got some extra money buy the guide just for the materia break down. They dont tell you what to do, but it gives what materia =what. like 1 hero drink=atk+1.
Be aware stat booting takes time, sp, and money. Shit just stealing the items you need can be taxing. In a good way i guess. I look at it like Im training for Emerald weapon…lol*
Im only on chapter 6, Im lvl 70. when i get home i’ll take a pic of what i have so far. IMO Im weak compared to some of these other peeps that are fully* Maxed.
I just made it to mission 9-6-6 with minerva. Im not even walking in there until i have everything 255.
Emerald humbled me more than 10yrs ago…lol. I know i need prep time for a boss that has 10million hit points.

So I have been reading about modding my PSP. I have a PSP slim 2001. You mean to tell me, that I need a service battery, memory card with needed files, AND a fat PSP to do the modding? Fuck sake. Is it possible to have someone (or myself) xfer .iso files or ps1 files to the memory stick and play them with the original fireware?
You need to be running custom firmware in order to play ISOs. Yah, it’s tough to get into the CFW if you don’t know anyone with a pandora handy.
With that being said, I just made a pandora battery from my friends phat psp, so I’ll be getting CFW on mine tonight and playing dat Monster Hunter Freedom 2.

To softmod your PSP you need an extra memory stick and a phat PSP that already has custom firmware on it. If anybody you know already has a CFW phatty, then you could use theirs.
If you want to hardmod it, you need a spare battery that you will actually open up and cut some pins in.

Well, the phat PSP is used to make a pandora battery and Magic Memory stick. If you have those 2 things available, than you don’t need a phat PSP.
Gotcha. Makes sense then. Thanks. Is the pandora battery just the service battery that is on page 1? And the memory card generate by the fat psp, can it be on a simple 512 stick? I ask because I figure I can get someone to do it for me and I could just get the TOOL service battery.
