Genesis (and… er, shouldn’t spoil) was a joke when I faced him and I was around Lvl. 38. Trust me. You’ll learn to appreciate your high levels later in the game. How do you raise your DMW Limit Break percentage? And as for upgrading your materia you only fuse them with same class (DMG + DMG, Status + Status, etc.) materia in order to gain the desired base increase, right?
Well, kind of. You see, any + or ++ status materia will boost up well, the stats. Usually only by +1 or 10%, but other materia do have their perposes. Libra (Master) for example resets them back to level 1, keeping their stats. You really have to experiment and see for your self, you can always load…
My bad, I should have been more clear. Does the dominate level materia involved in fusing decide what the final product is going to be or is the end result completely random? I forgot to edit my original post. For example, if I were to fuse my Hell Thundaga with a Mastered Thunder what’s the percentage of me ending up with a stat increased HT as apposed to something different?
It’s the Adaman Bangle, and I think you can get it by playing the same mission series where you got the other ones. If not, I know for sure that you can find one in the mission 9 (Cave of Wonders) series, but that series is so hard, and I doubt you’d be able to get anywhere unless you had one already.
I got an Elixir off a Magic Pot summon, so I guess that’s the only way. But don’t use them for fusion quite yet. Read on.
Here’s how it works. Whether or not the materia is mastered affects whether or not the final product of two fused materia ends up being something else. For example, if we take the Cure series and assume the materia stages are Cure (1), Cura (2), and Curaga (3), the mastered status of any of those materia will increase the class level of your fusion result.
For example,
Cure + Cure = Cure
Cure (Master) + Cure = Cura
Cure (Master) + Cure (Master) = Curaga
As for percentage increases, your final result, if the two materia you are fusing augment the same stat, the increase will be the higher stat plus half the lower stat. So let’s take your example. Hell Thundaga and Thunder make Hell Thundaga, so we’ll use some arbitrary numbers.
So your final result will be a Hell Thundaga (MAG+68) because you truncate the decimal.
If the stats that are augmented aren’t the same, then the stat bonus of the higher-class materia stays, and you just lose your other materia. So here’s the example:
So, I’m thinking of un-modding my PSP to go back to the official firmware. Why? I primarily only use the thing for watching vids, and actual games I’ve bought. Also, for some reason the PSP never actually turns off - no matter how long I hold the power button, it just goes into sleep mode. So I’ll leave the PSP alone for a few weeks and when I do want to play it, the battery is dead.
Is there more to the custom world that I just haven’t realized yet?
As far as CFW benefits… you can overclock some games for a smoother framerate (I wouldn’t even like Wipeout at the standard clockspeed, where the framerate turns into a choppy mess in higher speed classes)
You can rip your UMDs to stick. I don’t know about you, but I think UMDs are cheap, fragile pieces of shit, and I’d rather dump my library on my storage HDD and load my favorite games on a giant memory stick to cut loadtime and battery life. And you won’t need to fumble around with a carrying case for all your games when you’re on the go.
Also, PMPlayerAdVanCe (homebrew video player that uses a custom video format) runs in 111MHz mode, while the official video player runs in 166MHz mode I believe. That’s a lot of precious battery you’re saving if you’re away from a power outlet. And PMPAVC’s option-packed interface makes Sony’s official player look like a cheap homebrew program.
I really don’t buy the argument that piracy is killing PSP software sales when Monster Hunter Portable 2G sells 900k copies in a week. I just think PSP needs to carve a fanbase out for itself and establish some specific PSP-only franchises for the huge-selling hits to start rolling in.
I can agree with this, to me…when the game is WORTH the 30-50$ price tag. I personally bought both Monster hunter games, Tekken, Patapon, and both Metal Gear portable ops. All those games were worth it to me and wouldn’t have a problem buying them again if I had to. But PSP needs to get titles with more…substance. But every console has those problems at some point.
I like the PSP as it is imo. I used to commute to work 1 1/2 hours every day on the bus and nothing was more agonizing than an hour and a half long bus ride and the PSP really helped with that. The job was also a call center job that had downtime so being able to fire it up (when I was daring enough to) was pretty amazing. I had beaten Silent Hill Origins, God of War COO, and got halfway through FF:CC before I had to give up the PSP but I still own the games and I’m looking forward to buying my :sigh: 3rd PSP. At least this time theres exciting games to play on it unlike launch.
I’m looking for an accessory which wards Death, but also boosts stats like ATK +20/VIT +20 for example. Any suggestions? I’m up to Banora now so not far from finishing, anyone picked one up? Not Safety Bit though I have one of those…
