character specific threads lock up (crashes) safari on my ipad. also… character specific threads only load one topic in tapatalk. all this leads me to believe that there is a problem with sub forums.
Can any admin look into this? Karst has been running a gem of a character thread covering lots of things, it would be a real shame if things got lost.
A lot of character threads have become cluttered due to the forum software change, can the old codes be reinplented?
Or is it just a permanent change we have to live with?
//noob question incoming.
How do we nominate for front-page article? Use report?
My understanding is that this system didn’t even really work before the update. It was the empty shell of an idea that didn’t work out.
No don’t. Report is for infractions and mod intervention.
Actually as far as I know it worked quite well. People were just idiot about it, nominating good flame posts and stupid jokes instead of posts with good content.
The flash ads embedded in the upper right can sometimes layer in front of the alerts box, so when I hover over the alerts it ends up underneath the ad. Doesn’t happen with every ad but it seems theres a few that are forcing themselves to the top, so I’m not sure if theres actually a way to fix it on your end but it’s annoying nontheless
Also I’d like to see the post count feature come back, if it’s not available and somebody can point me in the direction of APIs or something for the new forum software I wouldn’t mind helping out and creating one
Cool, I haven’t used it in this way, which is why I posted here to make sure.
I can see why it didn’t work out in the past due to idiots using it to nominate whatever may be the trash of the day.
Anyway to not automatically go to the first unread post in the thread? In cases like the Trading outlet, one usually wants to go to the first post.
I have never been able to post a comment on a front page article.
Enter in comment, hit submit, page refresh, nothing. Check a half hour later. Nothing.
What’s the deal
For some reason, some threads indicate that new posts are in a thread, but I can’t see these new posts, or mine for that matter, unless I look at the forum via Tapatalk which, by the way, won’t let you view more than the last page of a thread even if you try to go to a previous page.
The only thing I can think of causing the invisible posts is that embedded Youtube videos do something to the display as I wanna say this is what all the threads that have this issue have in common.
If you go under the main title there are numbers to the last page.
That’s nice… because 1 doesn’t show up.
So I’m having an issue now when trying to edit the first post of the Garou MOTW thread here:
I just wanted to edit the smiles and add some new information but it’s telling me I’ve reached the 20k character limit. I took a screen here:

Does this mean I have to edit the post so it has the character limit now? I put a lot of work into the thread and it would be a shame to have to edit and lose information already posted. Any ideas would be great.
so is there ever going to be a way to disable avatars like we previously could?
forum looks so sloppy with avatars showing on the main thread list and the threads themselves.
I am unable to post on the front page. It keeps telling me to “Log in to reply”, and I have logged in and it still keeps telling me to log in. I have tried using IE9 and Firefox, both with the same results.
Yeah. So the project was abandoned, and it didn’t work.
I didn’t mean that it was a failure from a technical standpoint, but it was definitely a failure at the level where we were supposed to participate.
I’m not sure if anyone has reported this yet, but when you change the title of a thread, I think the links to individual posts also change. Consequently, once you change the title, the old links to individual posts just stop working, and the links just take you straight to the first page of the thread. I can see this being a huge problem for match up threads. Is there a way to fix this inconvenience?
It seems like that’s how Xenforo works.
EDIT:
Tested it. Even when you rename the thread, the old link works. It just redirects you to the new link.
So… is the incompatibility with all things Apple being looked into?
Please increase the php memory allocation. The current 67MB is not enough and causes relentless javascript errors when trying to post in longer threads as it trys to allocate resources for the new posts. Try 256MB. Thanks.
