Official Pokemon Thread ver 3.0: PokeMMO: The Future Of Pokemon? (B/W 2 OUT NOW!)

Yes to all.
All the BW2 move tutor stuf

Aww, poor Escavalier got Shafted :frowning: , but Durant got Super Power :badboy: fuck yo steel types.

Conkeldurr gets ICE PUNCH now! Gliscor can’t wall it (not that it could before) and now it can’t switch in. It’s a good thing Reuniclus is still around.

Gliscor gets Roost AND SR now… It will be everywhere.

Lol, Ludicolo with Fire Punch.

Bounce Donphan? Since when can elephants jump?

Skill Swap Magic Bounce Espeon could be pretty interesting in doubles.

Nothing else really stands out to me. I’m glad that the tutor moves aren’t as broken as I thought they would be.

As mentioned Poison Heal Gliscor should be able to combat a lot of your weaknesses well. Your fighting weakness is identifiable moreseo than fire types, because at least you have Tar/Garchomp to block them. Speaking of which, if he gets lucky enough, Infernape might be a problem. The only person that can truly stop him SS Excadrill or RK Garchomp, as he outspeeds the whole team.

I suppose Gastrodon would be able to fit on that team also because of his incredible bulk and being able to block fire AND water moves (storm drain). He also gains the SS immunity in being a ground type, good recovery move, etc.

Disappointed that Mienshao doesn’t get the Punches, but maybe Dual Chop could see some use? Haxorus didn’t get Fire Punch, but it does get Superpower and Aqua Tail for decent coverage. Hydreigon got majorly improved… So glad that Cofagrigus got Pain Split, now I can troll Mummy for real.
Congratulations, Golurk! You won the game. Stealth Rock, Drain Punch, Elemental Punches… all boosted by Iron Fist. Yes indeed.

So should it look something like

Garchomp, T-Tar, Excadrill, Gastrodon, Metagross, Ferrothorn

I know for a fact that I can start T-Tar first and not have to worry. I’m deciding between Pursuit and Crunch. It was gonna be like Stealth Rock/Rock Slide/Stone Edge, Fire Blast, Pursuit/Crunch, (I have trouble deciding if I should run T-Bolt or EQ)

I’m still new to battling and making good teams x.x

For leadoff T-Tar you can’t really go wrong with both. Pursuit is really good midgame for sniping some unspecting Alakazam/Ghost type, but Crunch has more power at leadoff. In general, EQ provides more coverage than Tbolt and it takes advantage of Tar’s high ATK base. You can also hit common leadoffs like Ferrothorn for at least netural dmg with EQ.

Gastrodon and Ferrothorn cover each others weaknesses well, but Gliscor covers your main weakness to fighting types importantly.

I’m very fond of Golurk, ground/ghost is appealing typing.

Spoiler

I’d go with Superpower over T-Bolt or Earthquake. You should run both Pursuit and Crunch IMO. Pursuit lets you tag Latios (which would be very hard for your team to deal with) while Crunch lets you do solid damage to things that stay in.

Conkeldurr beats your entire team

Cloyster beats your entire team

Tornadus beats your team if Metagross dies

Scarf Landorus will be a pain

Scarf Terrakion will be a pain

Scizor will be a pain

Mienshao will be a pain

Smash Pass will be a pain

Gliscor will be a pain: the sub/protect set can beat your entire team if Metagross dies or doesn’t have Ice Punch.

Infernape can sweep if Excadrill dies or sand isn’t up

Spikes will ruin you if you don’t run Rapid Spin on Excadrill

Also, your friend won’t be mad that you’re using Excadrill and Garchomp?

No. My friend isn’t mad that I’m using Excadrill/Garchomp.

So the battle is tomorrow, and I’m going nuts over this team and how to get it perfect. So whats the BEST case Scenario for team, knowing that I intend to keep it as a sandstorm team and make use of Garchomp/Excadrill.

Will Haxorus be able to learn fire punch? mold breaker + dragon / fire coverage and sun support would make it quite the monster…

Unfortunately no. It got Aqua Tail though and Low Kick though.

Excadrill is the key. In SS his speed is doubled and if he gets a SD he will be the most dangerous pkmn on your team, having SS up for the entire match is crucial for this team. If you give him an air balloon, he can avoid ground moves until he is touched. It’s important to keep T-Tar alive just in case you need instant weather late game, if he dies early and if the weather changes you will be at a disadvantage. Garchomp is your main sweeper, use him right and he should be able to KO at least two pokemon. Metagross is guranteed to take out at least one pokemon before he goes down, if played correctly. Ferro should be providing support with his excellent typing and maybe spread some paralysis around, Gastrodon/Gliscor to compliment everything else.

If you are worried about Cloyster/Scizor you can run something like:

T-Tar
Garchomp
Magnezone
Glicsor
Excadrill
Ferrothorn

Best case scenario is that the opponent doesn’t use Cloyster or Goreybss or any of the Pokemon I listed for that matter. Excadrill’s Earthquake fails to KO either of them after a Shell Smash. Cloyster will OHKO your entire team and Gorebyss can pass to something like Terrakion or Infernape and wreck you. As I said before, Infernape and Terrakion will be hard to deal with in general.

The threats I mentioned in my previous post are all pretty common, so you’re going to need to keep the offense on to deal with those pokemon since you don’t have great checks to them. Jirachi and Gliscor or Scizor can handle most of them. Do you know what kind of team your friend will run?

You could drop Metagross and Ferrothorn for the pokemon above. SpDef Jirachi handles Tornadus and Cloyster, can provide wish support. Gliscor handles the physical attackers I listed, but Landorus and Mienshao frequently run HP Ice, so be careful. Skarmory isn’t quad weak to HP ice, but it can’t beat Conkeldurr (not that Gliscor can either without a specific set) and it will struggle against the other fighting type if you don’t keep it in good health.

Ahh

Makes sense… rain needed another powerful weapon…

Besides the 5 million it already had?

Man, I wish Breloom had gotten Ice punch or something… It’s almost impossible for it to beat Gliscor.

lol Machamp can beat a Skarmory…

Skarmory isn’t as good as people hype it up to be imo…

Also, do you know of a Pokesim with a friend’s list?

That would be dope indeed if you got one…

Mild to high sarcasm with that post. Lol

The physical/special split, Magnet Pull, all these good Fighting types really didn’t do Skarmory any favors. It’s still damn good, but it’s not THE physical wall like it was in GSC.

There’s no friend lists on any sim AFAIK. Closest thing to a friend list would be the people on Smogon, but I don’t particularly like the people there.

I suppose we could all post our Pokemon Online names and the times we get on.
I use the same name on PO, but I usually have some suffix thing attached to it like xlxlxlxlTestingJunk. I don’t play with any sort of frequency, so PM me here if you ever want to battle.

Aight guess that’ll work…

Didn’t mean Smogon, just my SRK people…

Fuck a Smogon…

There’s little reason to run Skarmory nowadays, though he still gets the job done as a pure physical wall. With Ferrothorn/Gliscor so popular I wonder if we will ever see Skarmory drop to at least UU. There are plenty of pokemon in UU that can take care of Skarmory.

Speaking of UU, I think Mew should at least be suspected for BL. There’s not many pokemon in UU that can counter him, and he learns any move in the game so you don’t know what he’ll do.
