You Canadians need to start up an off season thread for your teams that don’t get to play anymore in this one. 
I’m a hockey fan through and through.
I could give 2 shits if a Canadian team won the cup. Unless it’s MY Canadian team, then I don’t care.
In fact, I hate almost every Canadian team and hope they never win. (Minus Ottawa, I have no hate towards them)
Just watched Babcocks press now. Im pretty impressed with what he and Shanny had to say. They are in this for the long haul, theres no quick fixes and they arent going to speed it if going gets bad. He let us know that there could be 2-3 years of pain coming before we see any improvements.
He dodged the player’s he wanted question, which was expected.
I also like how he handles the media, and he said that hes going to change the team to an atmosphere where they can be comfortable in and less afraid. Id suggest removing the media from the locker room as a first step.
LOL at Buffalo being butthurt for losing out on the Babcock sweepstakes and claiming they were mislead and used.
I liked what I heard from Babcock except calling Toronto Canada’s team. I’m not claiming any team to be Canada’s team or any team to be “America’s team” but LOL

Hes not wrong about Toronto being Canada’s team. Id say Montreal would be second, and thats a distance second too. In terms of fan base coverage, media, and fan’s passion, no other hockey team comes close.
Correct me if Im wrong, but the league also share profit together. I remember when the leaf does well, their profit increases substantially, benefiting the league as a whole. Toronto is the centre of the Hockey universe.
Babcock said he was a fan of Phaneuf. I hope that won’t affect him, when Phaneuf gets dumped on some other poor team.

Babcock wanted Phaneuf in Detroit, and that makes sense. On a team where Phaneuf isnt their first option he’ll do fine. Id also remove his “C” if they plan to keep him to take that pressure off him. Id say Kessel, Lupol, and Kadri more so than Phaneuf are on the chopping block
Babcock wanted Dion on Detroit, with Detroit’s players, not Toronto’s.
If they remove the C, that will just throw of Dion even more. If they remove the C, he is getting traded. His 7 mill 7 year hit is scary.
Kadri would be gone already if they wanted him gone. He is gonna work off his coke habit, I hope, and play solid hockey again.
Kessel ain’t going anywhere unless we draft a D. We get Strome, those two get paired up instantly.
Trade Phil the thrill ? Now you got one of the best coaches and one of the most coachable players in Kessel. It’s a match!
Lol kessel is a mess. He is a one dimensional player, with no clue how to back check or play defensively.
But he also is carrying the team, and getting two on one’d most nights, so who knows.

Was Coach Q really that much of a fortune teller to think having Nordstrom and Versteeg on the ice would have been more of an acceptable risk that playing Teravainen and Vermette post marathon fame? The Ducks had virtually the same lineup, that shows they are hungrier. Soooo many fullscreen resets in the 3rd also showed the Hawks spamming the conservative game.
I’d risk the same lineup for a half hearted effort against either EC team. Do they not know Western Conf is automatic cup?! Shit both teams’ backups could mollywhop TB/NYR
I agree…We weren’t playing for the win just trying not to lose…and it happened. GG ducks series is awesome so far we gotta tie it back up. We proved we can win in there arena
When we can’t score on any of 5 power plays, that to me points to being overly conservative. Granted the PP has been shit all year, but you can’t have that in playoff hockey when the Ducks are throwing the man advantage your way. I’ll give props to Anderson, that dude has a sick glove hand. I think we’re finally realizing to try high stick side.
