Official NCAA College Football 2011/2012 Thread: Now with less Tressel

haha pwnt

notre dame winnin it all, i am happy until i watch them lose to navy again i callin it

Navy got into their heads, lots of cracks and threats made the fighting irish feel…uncomfortable.

Hah. As a fan of a “not Ohio State” OSU (oregon state) I completely understand. It never really comes up around here due to everyone ether loving Oregon college football or being stoned to the point of not remembering what football is, but I do get it a lot when I’m out of Pac-12 country. Especially on the east coast. God damn its like we don’t exist over there.

I know the feeling. I live in Texas so if it’s not Longhorns, Aggies, Raiders or T Tech they have no idea what you are talking about.

I do like the Longhorns as well, them being consistently good as well means they are usually my “safe” bet. OSU this year, despite the loss of Dez (Oddly enough, to my other favorite team for NFL Dallas. Cowboys for life on both sides lol) they look pretty strong this year. We’ll see though, that coach last year at the games I attended called some really stupid plays.

Yeah, Okie State surprised the hell out of everyone last year (I think Phill Steele said they were the “greenest” team in the country to start 2010). Curious to see how well they do in the rematch against Arizona.

In other news: Big 12 is about to blow up again! http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/All-signs-point-to-gone-Texas-A-M-is-about-to?urn=ncaaf-wp4954

Some ideas being thrown around:

A&M and Florida State to SEC
Big 12 brings in Houston to replace A&M
Big 12 hemorrhages, loses the big players to other conferences (Oklahoma, Texas, etc), implodes
Texas saying “fuck it” and goes independent, Big 12 implodes

Interesting stuff.

so… booster from florida droppin names. its about to get ugly

apparently he gave like 100+ named players extra benefits since 2002

ESPN actin like this shit isnt the regular MO in big conferences

a&m is NOT getting into SEC

It sure looks like it. Looks like they have a little more time to decide.

Miami’s gonna have Thor’s hammer drop on them.

Only thing getting in the way of them and the death penalty is the NCAA’s lack of balls.

AP pre-season top-25: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Ai4UQERbVRUq4.OZqWa69bwcvrYF?slug=ap-t25-collegefbpoll

Y’know, I’m still not really getting all the hype around Florida State.

I understand they’re pretty good, but I don’t really think they’re even a top 10 team. They seem more like a #12-13 team.

Lot of players coming back? I honestly don’t know ether. They seem Nortre Dame-like with their hype.

Anyone think Les Miles is going to suspend his players for that fight? Might be a plus to bench JJ.

all i know is RS getting more reps at QB would be unlikely

One week away! YESSSSS!! Wish my internets supported ESPN on XBL. That multi-game watch thing looks cool.

Uh-oh, spaghettio: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/6898211/lsu-players-turn-arrest-warrants-issued

Crazy.

Game week, gentlemen. Anyone have any bets? I already accidentally picked Wisconsin to not cover 35+ against UNLV. What was I thinking!?

I think ESPN’s Pat Forde is usually pretty sharp, but his upset pick of Minnesota over USC is way the fuck off.

There is nothing to think that Minnesota’s new coach and a quarterback nobody’s ever heard of will have a chance of beating USC, with all the controversey behind them (yes, they can’t play in a bowl game and yes, the scholarships will start to hurt) and playing at home.

I saw that and lol’ed. USC is down, sure, but losing at home to Minnesota? I’m pretty sure the lower tier Pac-12 teams could handle them with relative ease.
