The season can’t start soon enough. Either Lakers repeat, or Ron sets off a meltdown that makes Pistons vs Pacers look like Shock vs Fever. Anything less would be a giant disappointment.
For a guy who’s been little more than average for most of his career Ron Artest sure is getting a lot of press these days. Apparently there are some ulterior motives for him signing with the Lakers.
Wow Artest sure likes being in Hollywood.

Barring freak injuries, trades or other surprises, the top 8 in the West should be:
SA and LA fighting for first
Houston
Denver
Portland
Dallas, Memphis, NO and Phoenix in a dogfight
And like the past 10 of 11 years, anyone besides SA and LA in the Finals would be an upset.

EDIT2: I wish Drew Bynum the best, but he has to wear a brace for the duration of his career. His knees will forever keep him from his potential. Thankfully for the rest of the league, LA’s frontcourt will never be as frightening as it could be.

In order for the Hornets to miss the playoffs Chris Paul would have to miss a lot of games. Tyson Chandler when healthy is better than Emeka Okafor but that may no longer be the case so I think the Hornets improved in that area.
The rest of the team beyond Paul,West,and the aforementioned Okafor is garbage but they have more than enough to make the playoffs in the West.
The Rockets starting five of Aaron Brooks,Shane Battier, Trevor Ariza, Luis Scola, and David Andersen looks really weak. I could see Landry getting extended minutes but that makes for a pretty short frontcourt. McGrady might be back by December but he might not be that effective anymore and the Rockets could be too far behind by then.
Chandler is nowhere near better than Okafor.
Okafor has never done anything less than 13 points and 10 rebounds in any year of his career. Chandler will do 10 rebounds one year, and 8 rebounds the next.
Okafor is also a more consistent shot blocker.
The only thing Chandler is good for is his height/athleticism on those lobs.

The ref’s will be better if none of them playing FAVORITES to star players!:xeye: If they call the game correctly like college b-ball the nba will be better for it imo. LBJ, kobe, and d wade would get 3 extra turnovers on traveling calls each game. I’m so happy the nba are getting new ref’s. These old nba ref’s and their star treatment bogus calls had to go sir!
