hot diggity, Ariza get moved to another mediocre team. Pushing Peja to the bench, though, is really good for the Hornets, and they finally have at least a handful of players that are respectable on defense.

I checked the schedule, this year’s team will be in full tank mode by Thanksgiving (American). Top 3 draft pick coming up in 2011.

i think the biggest disappointment i have with the trade today is that you won’t see a collison/thornton duo anymore. both really shined simultaneously when paul went down… and now the hornets are thin on the pg side as well as nor resolving the center issue. granted… it seemed like every position on that team had problems except for pg, and collison is good enough to not play behind anyone, even cp3. anyways… i hope ariza does what posey was supposed to do, and that marco can find some stability in NO… i still like that team, but its one of the most sad stories in the nba.
indiana made out well. if they can pawn off some of their guards (apparently they tries to buy out ford, but he wasn’t having that…) they could fill in their holes for back ups… no reason to have 5 pg’s, especially if stephenson pans out like people are hoping. actually, looking at depth charts, indiana is going super young, especially if they trade off all the players they’re trying to dump…

So Indiana would have turned Troy Murphy and TJ Ford into Darren Collison, James Posey, and Erick Dampier…that would have been a pretty sweet haul for them.

I also had hopes for the Hornets because Paul is an obvious top 2 in his position, and David West is top 10 in his their just battling against bad management, low attendance, and those Okafor/Peja contracts.
Ariza is a decent addition, but I figured they would have gotten more for Collison.
