of course not. the knicks haven’t been good in a decade. i dont think that anybody thinks that ppl hate the knicks because the knicks are good.
ppl hate the knicks because the knicks are ny. ppl love to hate the city, period. they’d hate on the knicks good or bad.
no one here thinks that the knicks are championship material, afaik. no one believes the knicks make it past the second round.
thats where there’s a difference between us.
most ppl don’t believe knicks make it past the FIRST round. personally, i believe we have a legit shot at it. others say not at all.
i disagree on this.
while i agree with the reason why some ppl dislike the heat, i feel like NY fans are talking about the future but confident on what we can do now. none of us expect a chip this season. at all.
but the knicks knocking a team out in the playoffs shouldn’t be classified as reaching IMO and shouldn’t be cause for hate considering who we have on the team and our record against some of the teams in the top in the east.
realistically speaking, we’d be up against the heat, the bulls or the magic. i like our chances against the heat because of the mental weakness and because we’ve beaten them before. i like our chances against the bulls because we’ve beaten them before.
i don’t like our chances against the magic because we don’t have an answer for dwight. but i don’t see how beating one of the other two teams or at least STATING that the knicks are capable of doing that should be cause for ppl to call ppl out.
we have melo. we have stat. we have billups. fields should be the rookie of the year (sorry blake). anthony carter is doing well now. douglas is doing well now. the knicks are starting to play d (and efficiently at that). we need to be more consistent, obviously, but its a huge start at the right time.
i don’t think that its comparable to what the heat did with the pyro and the claims of winning multiple championships starting this year.
NY means more to melo than miami does to bron/bosh. melo wants to do it for himself and the city, as does stat. winning a championship IMO and in their opinions means more to NY and to the league.
melo and stat wanted this. they are leaders.
that bron shit showed his character. which is fine. dude took the easy route. i’m not gonna hate, he did what he felt was best. he didn’t want to walk into a cleveland like situation here. obviously it turned out that NY isn’t cleveland and miami isn’t the promised land.
our bench plays hungrily (thanks dwight). our guys are clutch. don’t think ny is hungrier? explain some of the wins we have against better teams? or what happened when we played boston? NY is mad hungry to get to that next level.
the heat take those accolades for granted, IMO. shit was handed to them. bosh was put in that superstar status early by the media without proving a damn thing.
stat was always considered “made” by nash. he was hungry to prove he could do it himself. big difference. melo is here but its still stat’s team IMO.
