Morph you going to kill yourself when VS beats you this week?
imo.

Hate to quote Paul Pierce but it don’t even matter where you play, if you can’t win on the road when it counts you shouldn’t even be champion peroid.
not kill myself…self mutilation maybe.
Blazers played alright for who they had, but still should have won pretty easily I think. Disappointment of a game for me.
Also, my MIA-LAL prediction was exactly right, so while that in itself is neat, I’m pissed that the Heat are about as good as I thought. Fuck those guys
and ONE TO!
I am not worried about the Lakers. Not even looking that far. Worried about the Celtics way much more right about now. Not to mention the Magic just beat the freaking Spurs and Celtics.
I seriously don’t know who to pick as champs right now. Probably the C’s.
No way Celtics win title right now when Rondo is hurt.
Miami, Dallas, or San Antonio would win as of RIGHT NOW.
However for the long haul I see only 6 teams.
East = Miami, Boston, Orlando.
West = Lakers, San Antonio, Dallas.
I know the west is filled with a lot of good teams, but I just don’t see any of them knocking off those 3 if they are healthy, but one another.
I meant “right now” as in deciding now who’s going to win in the Finals come June, not who would win if the Finals were held now. Bad wording on my part.
I don’t understand how one could put the Lakers on the top of the West in terms of likelihood to go to the finals. They’re simply not that great of a team this year, despite what their record says. If seeding were how it is today in the west, do you really think the Lakers could win a 7-game series against OKC? And then the Spurs? And THEN the Mavs? I don’t see even one of those happening, nevermind the increasing difficulty of each series after hypothetically getting past OKC. They have zero wins to be proud of this year.
Perkins and Rondo are out.
They’ll be healthy for the playoffs and roll on the East.
Dwight Howard don’t want none of Perkins defensively. He eats him up.
Boston is going to make the finals in the east. SA/Dallas/Lakers depends on who gets healthy/makes a stupid trade.
With Rondo back Celtics should be fine.
When everyone is healthy the C’s are the team to beat atm in my opinion. I do not like them but they played the best team basketball for the most part of the season along the Mavs. Someone like Pierce or Allen can still take over and they have good defencive players in the middle to force people into working from the outside. Unlike the Mavs they have more offensive options as I see it right now, could be wrong though … XD
I’d love me a Dallas vs Miami NBA Final … revenge …
It’s hard to get excited over Orlando’s win yesterday because they had to claw their way back against a team missing both its main cog and its low post defender. Save for his 5 blocks, Dwight was pretty much held in check by foul trouble and Boston’s defense. The Magic didn’t really take over until the final 2-3 minutes. All Boston needed to do was score a few baskets and make some stops down the stretch.
I like that the Magic won against the two best teams in the league, putting both of their win streaks to a halt, but it’s still too early to determine just how good this Orlando team can really be.
They’re still second rate compared to everyone else. Hell, even the Hawks are looking better than them right now.
I just want the Knicks to make the playoffs and hopefully get Melo w/out gutting the team:(
Celtics the toughest team in the eastern conference right now no doubt, once they get there size back totally (K.Perkins, Shaq, whack O’Neal) they WILL dominate.
No team in the East can stand toe to toe with them and there weapons, defensively etc-etc.
The San-Antonio Spurs are the force to be reckoned with DESPITE the La Lakers being the current champions.
They have no rhythm, there bigs have to re-learn how to play together and no one seems to step up when the team needs them too and it forces the team to go into a variety of droughts throughout the season, S.Blake isn’t being used for the qualities he was brought in upon, its just all about Kobe,Odom and Pau, Sad.
Either way the Spurs now have the talent young enough and they are always deep enough, there role players ALWAYS come in and do more then expected, they are rolling and Duncan is damn near rested, watch out.
But that exactly why championship are won in June not in December. Right now the lakes are playing some really shitty ball. But I think all of that will change in a couple months. They just need time. Kobe’s battling another injury and Pau just playing tired and uninspired ball. Plus with Kobe shitting on Ron after the game, and Ron claiming he is going to refocus because us wants another ring to keep I think progress will come.
You can’t base it on past years of the Lakers and what they accomplished. You can’t take away the last 2 rings, very impressive. THIS year, they aren’t playing like the same team, therefore cannot treat them the same. They have to beat some good teams and get on a roll before they can be considered to have a free pass to the finals. Right now, they are not playing like an elite team
You are right, june is all that matters but if THIS years lakers go up against an elite team in the playoffs, they aren’t playing (right now) like they can hang, so it’s natural for people not to believe in them. The best (or worst, depending on if your team just won) thing about sports is most likely, a new team will win the next year, everybody starts over
that’s all you had to say.
don’t jump the gun, people.
the celtics are the team to beat in the east but what’s different if they meet the lakers in the finals again? if anything the lakers would be a better team at that point then they were last year. they added all those new pieces and more importantly bynum might be healthy.
right now the best team are the mavs. they’ve beaten the heat twice, jazz twice, spurs, thunder. everyone knows how much they choke in the playoffs though so you can’t count on them for anything.
