The Powerpoint Presentation Behind LeBron James’ Full Court Birthday Celebration? - SBNation.com

Sounds smart to me. :coffee:

Investor will most likely be old white men giving a young black man money. You have a problem with that? Son I am disappoint in you. I thought you were repping for us minorities, I guess you just another one of them huh?

You guys keep forgetting that you are NOT the target audience.

Well I guess LeBron might be a Billionaire some day afterall. What an asshat, I went from loving him as a sports icon on a Midwest team, to him moving to what was already my least favorite team and asking for half a mil for people to congratulate him on his birthday. Seriously, fuck that guy.

Lol Wizards.

I pick number 1.

Hahaha I vote #1 too. That was a sweet article.

Lebron found a way to get the fibble minded people to join his bandwagon and make what he,bosh & wade did “Ok”

In the end it’s sort of a good Idea but honestly I DON’T want to see the same old same old teams winning.
I don’t want to see a league DOMINATED with 4 teams here with 3 great superstars, 4 teams there with 3 great superstars, then the last amount barely hanging on.

My own Biased.
I do want Kobe to get one more ring, piss on Shaq’s forehead once more and then watch the Lakers become JUST a playoff team but no longer a championship team for the next couple of years.

This is one reason I love to see the NFL’s turn around (yes I know completely different sport but look at them) the past 7 years or so,different Superbowl opponents, teams in small areas still growing or at least putting up a fight.

In the NBA it’s hard for this to happen, the veterans don’t matter anymore, there area of expertise is rarely respected so these new young guys come in and take over, look at whats transpired over the years, high schoolers have overrun the league, rules geared towards more high octane flashy offense, commentary is ass, most of them can’t paint a good picture (tell a good story) to gain interest and have people want to watch teams like the Spurs, whom don’t have such rich history like the Lakers/Celtics or to watch a team like Utah etc-etc.

I don’t think certain teams should be deleted, I think draft rules should be changed in terms of age requirements etc, also take care of the loop hole (going to play across seas), 2 years minimum college game play, veterans minimum salary bump, rookie contract restrictions, length, pay etc.

I’d say the salaries not being so ridiculous would help more than contraction.

I’m late but: I’m glad Arenas is on the Magic now. whether or not what he did was stupid, idgaf he’s always been one fo my fav players. good to see he’s got a chance at makin’ the playoffs this year. I love my Lakers, but I hope the Magic at least make it to the finals.

fuck the Heat.

also, Suns looked really bland in their game against the Heat. Magic looked really sharp with all the scoring. I wonder how long they can keep that lights out shooting going.

People haven’t given a crap about the Wolves since Garnett left. Garnett WAS the franchise. Once he left (actually, a couple years before then, but not so significantly), seats were so empty. The Wolves are usually ranked close to last in attendance, and I hear that the owner wants a new stadium soon (not going to happen). I wonder what would’ve happened in the 2004 playoffs if Cassell was healthy, I think they could’ve beaten the Lakers, especially since Payton wasn’t “The Glove” at that stage in his career.

I agree with Cool-Breeze, even though there have been a few bright things happening, overall, the NBA has been boring since the early 2000s. The SSOL Suns, Lakers-Kings (even with ref-assist), a few more that I can’t think of at the moment. The way the NBA system is designed really makes it hard for teams to get out from being cellar-dwellers, it can take a a few years before a bad team can recover, and in cases with the 76ers, where they have bad contracts and are average, which means they keep getting average picks, meaning no improvement.

It’s be more lolz if he wore his shoes but in Lakers colors.

Bloated contracts absolutely killed the NBA. You can’t compare it with baseball and their bloated contracts; baseball doesn’t have a salary cap (for future arguments). Players have their contract seasons, hedo and lewis (sorry magic fas :frowning: ), get that money then collect a check.

You can’t really say that the Magic dumped Lewis’ contract because Agent Zero has an atrocious contract as well. If anything, I think the Wizards saved money in the trade.

All contracts should have performance clauses for the following reasons: a) the fans who pay the money b) the teammates who play with said player c) the fans who pay the money

Also, I think the Arenas trade is risky. Now you gotta run the O through Arenas instead of Dwight. But maybe that is how Dwight wants it? I still don’t think he’s ready to have the offense ran through him. Orlando got a heck of a scorer, thats for sure.

And merry christmas to all of you! Just put on that Friday After Next baby! “all I want from santa claus is two fat bitches and a bag of weed and two bags of p’tato chips t’give to the fat bitches…”

Here’s hoping that the Lakers will actually show up this time.

Lakers and Miami is gonna be a good game tomorrow.

Haven’t been in this thread since forever, but I’m getting hyped about Lakers vs Heat tomorrow. I hope Lakers will tear the Heat a new one.

black jesus, smite them HEAThens!

I think one thing that will help the contact situation is to have shorter contracts. The more often people have contract years, the more effort they’ll put in to prove their value. Instead of being stuck with a 5 year contract, you’re only stuck with 3.

Basketball contracts are indeed stupid.

Look at the top 50 paid athletes.

2010 Fortunate 50 - SI.com

Count how many of those guys are NBA players. After you do that look at the difference between their contracts and endorsements.

Since I know SRK is lazy I will give you some examples.

#16 = Dale Earnhardt Jr. = Sal/winnings = 4 million // endorsements = 22million
#22 = Jermaine O’Neal = Sal/winnings = 23 million // endorsements = 250 thousand
#24 = T-Mac = Sal/winnings = 22 million // endorsements = 250 thousand

So what is my point? My point is the NBA give long ass contracts to guys who become irrelevant way too often.

I’d really like the Lakers to shit all over the Heat, but considering the Lakers haven’t really beaten ANY good teams this year, I sort of doubt they’ll be able to pull off a win or even keep it close.

lakers better get it done today, especially after that bucks disaster
