But you did kind of add a subtle context to your statement that didn’t make any sense. “If you can’t watch a cartoon **with kids in it **without feeling like a pedo…” It’s not particularly to do with who is in the show, but how young of a demographic the show was deliberately aimed at without more mature undertones. I haven’t seen as many adult-references as some of the other shows (PPG, Billy and Mandy, Samurai Jack, Fosters, etc), is basically how I should have phrased it.

Lauren Faust, who worked on such hit cartoons as PowerPuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, contacted Hasbro about relaunching MLP into a show geared for girls that avoided the overly-girly tropes problematic with most shows for girls, yet was also accessible enough that parents could also watch it without the urge to stab out their own eyes.

Yeah I don’t know why people couldn’t figure this out a long time ago. It’s really not THAT girly of a show. There’s male ponies that have personalities that a boy or a young man could click with.
It’s just girly enough that it’s going to be weird if you’re going around being a full on bronie about it. It’s no worse than being some Pokemon show fanboy. You’re just going to be looked at weird because you’re fanning up some shit geared for like 8 to 12 year olds.
EDIT: I love Tara Strong mainly because she voiced X-23 in Marvel 3. Which of course I only found out after seeing a video of her doing voicework for Bubbles and Twilight Sparkle. Bubbles is my fav PPG character too.
