Dang, there was a gaming center in Modesto that I went to for a couple DoA4 tournaments, but they got closed down.
It was called "The Gaming Edge"
But theres gonna be a DoA4, VF5, SSBB, and Guitar Hero 2 tournament in Modesto on Janruary 13th, 2008, I’ll post more on it later.

Yeah, there really aren’t that many DO4 tournies out here anymore… but, have you heard of NEXUS? It’s another gaming center we have.

I just saw the thread about the CvS2 tournament that pat will be holding tomorrow. Unfortunately I’ll be in the bay area around that time - I doubt I’ll be able to make it back before it’s all over and done with.
Still I’d like to be able to get a chance to get some games in whenever you guys are available. Just let me know.
As it stands, a buddy of mine and I have gone in together on a showcase 33" arcade cabinet with Alpha 3 and 3rd strike. We still need to do a little work on it to get it into shape, but I’d like to run tournaments at some point if we can find enough reasonable players. Part of the purpose of my trip tomorrow is to see about picking up a second identical cabinet with CvS2 - it’s not a sure thing, but it could happen :wgrin:.

Wow! I play a little bit of A3… not as much 3s… but PATMONSTA and I have talked about maybe training to get better at it… I’m down for tournaments also and hopefully we can find enough reasonable players.
That CVS2 cab would be sick also… if you did get it… you’d have the only “working” cab in MOTOWN!
I don’t know if you’ve been to BOOMERS recently but, their CVS2 is in bad… incredibly bad shape.

3rd strike is a great game, we never really have had a machine in the area if I remember correctly, I didn’t get into it myself until I went to Evo2k3. Seeing the game at a high level of play is pretty inspiring, previously I thought it was a very simple game, but I was amazed at the depth. That’s what happens when there’s no comp around. Well worth getting into.
I used to play CvS2 regularly at Tilt in the mall years ago. I used to work in the mall, so playing on breaks was the thing to do. Chances are if you played even randomly in Tilt back then, you have probably played me before. Boomers machine was jacked up 80% of the time even back then, I’m sure that hasn’t improved any over the years.
Oh a final note, I’m kind of an old man (well not really…28 seems pretty old sometimes). So hopefully I won’t be rolling through into a teenager get-together haha, that would be kinda weird. I seriously doubt that though if you guys play ST, usually only old-schoolers have any interest in it.

Sorry! So yeah, merced is fun! LOL… my friends went to merced for a weekend to visit some ppl and they asked a guy at a grocery store, “What is there to do in merced??? what up motown tourney went well it was fun got to play with in my opinion my rival snakedzzle who beat me once again hopefully itll b diff next time but it was fun but the reason im posting is cuz the homie phobos gonna make me a stick so I can start playing 3rd strike im hella excited justr bored and felt like posting peace:rofl:

phobos you will get better for sure at cvs2 and i will get better at 3rd strike the thing thats cool is we take regular weekend trips to suunyvale golfland and milpitas golfland so if we ever go well give you a call cuz theres alot of good players there for cvs2 and 3rd strike welcome to the motown crew.
