Anyone can confirm if the TEkitty work fine with the madcatz asian TE ? The white one. I check the lock switch didn’t disable start and back also so seems the right one.
Works fine on mine.
However because the default button layout is awful it means the LED’s are hard wired to that order. So instead of getting a cool Knight Rider effect when you strum the buttons it goes in a random Tetris shape instead. This should be seen as just a minor difference. Still perfectly functional.

time to buy kitty. I didn’t buy the vx-sa I talk about some time ago and choose instead a TE used white one :3 I really like that te design
Hey Toodles, I accidently plugged my VLX kitty into 2 consoles at once… PS3 through the original VLX USB and Dreamcast through RJ45 with both systems on. It was only for about ten minutes before I realized this and unplugged both consoles. The VLX still functions properly in Xbox360 mode and Dreamcast but in PS3 mode it is not working correctly. I think my VLX Kitty PCB is fried. Is there any way to send this in for repairs or will I have to buy a new one…
Hey Toodles, Installed the TE Kitty with VS harness into my VS
When i plug in with guide held the 1 and 4 LED lights up on the guide button and my computer says cannot recognize device and shows up as just “G” in devices and printers.
When i plug in on RS, unlocked, with back or turbo held, nothing happens. When I plug in unlocked with nothing held nothing happens.
I am not using the regular USB out, im using the RJ45>neutrik>RJ45/USB cable (that I made but I verified that the pins are all crimped properly. i tried plugging the USB cable I made (with rj45 on one end) and was able to update firmware but still get all the same results.
any help would be appreciated
Update, Also I just hooked up all the buttons and connected to my PC with guide held down and A isn’t lighting up the turbo LED. I tested the button with a multimeter at the button and at the distro block and it does work. Not sure if that helps.
All other buttons do light up the correct LED.
EDIT: Went multimeter crazy (tested every wire) and verified that the wire that came in the VS kit coming from the A button spot on the distro is messed up somewhere between the distro connector and the middle connector so no signal is getting from the A button to the TE PCB and therefore to the Kitty either. Not sure if its with either connector or the wire itself. I looked at the pins and that one seems to be not all the way down on the middle connector, but its most of the way… should be touching somewhere, I tested at the top of the connectors with my multimeter (where the wire goes in) so I’m leaning towards the wire itself being bad.
So I’m going to need a new one please.
Edit: Fixed this. The Kitty’s button configuration for the PS3 wasn’t set up at all. Went into configuration and it worked right away.
yeah it’s only my r2 button, everything else works as suppose too. i’m hoping someone here can help us. i know i can rewire the buttons to not use my r2, but in the end with all the games i play i end up using every button sooner or later.
Quick dumb install question. These push terminals, am I missing something or are they the fiddliest things I’ve ever used. The cables just don’t stay in no matter how hard I push?
Edit: I figured out it was easier to screw the board down before trying to use the push ins. All done and mod complete. Gotta say I really didn’t like the push-ins, but that’s me being old fashioned you know where you are with a screw down

I wish I had a multimeter or knew how to use one. Lol. You’re having my exact problem. If that’s the problem I think I need a new one too. Do you have a picture where you could show which wire it is?
There is no visible sign of trouble, the wire may have just been bent too far in manufacturing and broke… could be lots of things. All I know is when i send a signal through with a multimeter it doesn’t reach the other side.
Move along nothing to see here… at Kuya_Joe’s suggestion i took it all apart and started over. Got it all working. But my CN1 wire (the one with the A button) is still messed up so I do need a replacement.

yeah i can only imagine how swamped he is (just look at the number of post here, or number of pages yikes!) , i just wish i wasn’t such a noob when it comes to all of this. i can usually trouble shoot most of my issues on most things but with these boards, out side of making sure all is plugged in right and my wires are as they should be, i have no clue as to how to proceed. but i know he’ll get around to helping, just gotta stay patent that’s all. do appreciate everything you do for the scene toodles. big props.

If I plan on only using an RJ45 Jack, do I still need to screw in the usb cord to the top terminals?
You do not need to.
To clarify, you need to screw in the one from the TE to the Kitty, but not the one out from kitty
I’m stumped. Been trying to install a kitty for over a week now and I’ve completely taken it apart and back together over and over and I still keep getting unrecognised G device and the upper left and bottom lights stay on. The lights on the turbo panel light up correctly. The stick won’t register as a stick in the gaming apps. I’m not sure what to do. This is my third kitty and my other two went okay. I ordered another set of Vs. Harness just incase I got some bad ribbons but those won’t be in until next week.
I have a Vs. stick, TE Kitty(spring terminal), Vs Harness.

Are you holding Guide when you insert the USB cable when its unrecognized as G?
Did you try plugging it in holding turbo with switch set to RS and lock switch set to unlocked?
