TE Kitty is a great product. I’ve done MC Cthulu + IMP + fightpad/TE board mods, 3 different versions of the Chimp (1.0, 2.0?, SMD) in various configs, and several things with other products. Best product yet. Sometimes I’m said that I don’t get to turn on my soldering iron, but being done in 30 mins. being careful and double checking everything with a multimeter is even better.
Now I want to buy a VLX just to add the VLX Kitty to it as a time trial
Alright, Good thing I borrowed my bro’s iPhone:

I clipped the plastic circled in red w/ a pair of Dikes after taking out the Mic Board. Once that was clipped…

BAM! Slips right in!

Dikes are your friend if you don’t have a Dremel for a smoother operation. Now people can go head first into getting a Kitty for their SE.
After playing a few games i notice the the player 4 led stoped lighting up when I move the joystick right, downright and down anyway i can replace the LED?
sent my payment for the te-s kitty the other night, can’t wait!
You sure it’s the LED? It should like up in bootloader mode (hold Guide when plugging in) or flash normally in 360 mode.
Refunded. I dont know why you’re under the impression that I have something for sale for the TE-S.
sorry, jumped the gun when I saw it first page post.
Hey toodles. I just received the TE kitty boards today and installed one of them into my R1 TE. It works great. It was a really simple installation. Thanks for the great products
Hi Toodles, great product although I have run into a small issue. When on my Xbox and I leave the LS/DP/RS switch in LS position, the Left and Right direction from the joystick hang so to speak for roughly a quarter of a second once the joystick has returned to neutral state. This problem disappears if I put the LS/DP/RS switch in DP position. Also if I hit the guide button while in LS mode the joystick loses function but if I switch to DP again it returns and if I switch from DP to LS while in the guide menu functionality returns as well. Everything works fine in DP position though. Also when I force Xbox360 mode on my pc I can’t get the stick to function in LS mode it has to be in DP for me to check position on my PC.
Sorry if this has been discussed before because I just skimmed through thread. Great product btw, I’ve always been satisfied with your pcbs.
That is how LS is supposed to act.
It is simulating Left Analog Stick.
The joystick shouldn’t die in LS position after hitting the guide button in Xbox360 since its using Xbox360 pcb though. Or have left and right hang. That’s fine for checking via PC though. Since I just double checked using some of the other pcbs I had laying around.
There is supposed to be hang.
I don’t know about the dying though.
Nevermind, problem solved on my end, I knew I should have waited 30 minutes before posting anything. Doesn’t it always happen that you feel stumped and then ask for help and then realize the error a short time after. Sorry about all that. Problem wasn’t with the Kitty board more so rather my actually kitty so to speak.
Thanks btw jdm714.
Hey, I finally got around to installing mine, I had a question though. Is there any way to alter what button lights up in the turbo panel? My button layout is
X Y LB
A B RB
So obviously, the lights on top are not corresponding to the buttons new positions.
- You could buy the turbo panel from a joystick that comes that way, like the the MvC2 stick.
- You could try to rearrange the wires in the ribbons that connect the Kitty to the LED board.
- The bottom of the Kitty has spots for cutting the traces on the bottom for the LT, RT, LB, and RB buttons. They’re little solder jumper pads with a small trace connecting the two large pads together. You could cut the small traces and use some fine 30 gauge wire to connect the pads in the order you want. Please understand though, definitely not supported, and I wont lose sleep if you fubar the thing.
Wow, I didn’t even realize they had a stick with that layout.
edit: I went back and switched it to the original layout; I am the most motherfuckin ocd guy right now.
Curious, the Kitty looks really handy, and I’ve had a few problems with some sloppy soldering I did on my MC Cthulhu/Imp, so I’ve been considering getting one of these just to cut out the problems I created with my failures. The only thing I’m curious about, is; is it possible to disable the turbo button lightup thing? I’m not really interested in it, and I’d think that more than anything, it would be easy to be mistakenly accused of using turbo features when you’re not.
And deny yourself awesome for the mistaken opinion of others? Blasphemy!
The LEDs lighting up is hard wired. Youd have to cut traces or pop off select diodes on the bottom of the board, but yeah, it can be done.
I finally got around to testing this by removing the kitties from my sticks and neither disconnect as they did with the kitties installed. I have also tried it on other 360s and have the same problem though I haven’t noticed it on pc or ps3. That doesn’t mean a whole lot as I don’t use the stick that often on anything aside from the 360, perhaps ~10% of my play time.
Edit: Also I neglected to mention I have reinstalled them and rechecked all the connections and encounter the same issue. Could it be a problem with the wires that are included with the kitty?
Good news it somehow works again. well if anything ill probably change the led color if it happens again.
Maybe I’m missing a joke, but is there a reason http://godlikecontrols.com/download had the stereotypical “you’ve been hacked” page defacement.
