Official DJ Hero Thread

lack of create a DJ…wait for DJ Hero 2…?

What difference does it make? The DJ is the equivalent to picking your characters in DDR. You wont even have time to focus on the background on the harder difficulties.

Rihanna - Disturbia vs Kid Sister - Control is fucking SIIIIIIICK

I love this game.

Nah, it’s not that big of a deal. BUT I do seem to fuck up crossfade stuff. I overshoot it a lot. I guess it’ll just be muscle memory.

maybe so but after seeing it so much you do tend to follow the backround. I know I do. framerate for the backround animation was a full 60 at the start but problems occurred.

it will become that after time…thing I hated about the demo was you don’t get an option to switch you platter buttons to the outer part. too cramped for the inside.

Damn.

Been playing for the past 3 hours. Shit is mad fun.

I wonder if this is how guitarists felt when Guitar Hero came out… it’s fun and all, but it doesn’t really give me the same “feeling” that spinning did. For one - obviously - it’s a plastic toy and a videogame… but it doesn’t have the same rock-out factor that GH/RB games do. Or maybe it’s because I can’t actually play a real guitar (but I know what vinyl under my fingertips feels like).

It also doesn’t really feel like a DJ game until hard/expert difficulty, when you actually have to control the scratches.

Talking about the authenticity of Dj Hero in comparison to real spinning is a moot point IMO.

Real bonafide Dj’s endorse Dj Hero. So it cant be that bad.

Its a fucken video game. Just enjoy it.

Its the same with every rhythm game.

I’m sure you’ll have guitarists, drummers, djs or whatever throwing a pitch out, but I don’t think anyones gonna debate playing a real instrument versus a toy.

You can enjoy it for what it is, and if the game serves as a gateway to get you into playing the real instrument, then even better

Does this game grade on precision? It always irked me that western music games never seem to do this.

I’m not talking about the authenticity of the actions/motions you go through in the game… I’m talking about the “feeling” you get from playing the game. You know, how if you have a bunch of friends together playing Rock Band, that shit just feels dope.

It’s completely lacking in DJ Hero… but it doesn’t make it any less fun to play.

Yeah, that’s very annoying to me.

what do you mean? I actually hated being graded in a game…stupid S, A, B etc ranks…fuck that! I hated it in school I hate it still.

you get your usual stars like the other hero games.

I actually like that you’re not graded on precision in recent rhythm games… It means I can play it on a nice HD display + a/v system instead of having to pull out my CRT (aka, the only way I can play IIDX).

I think it just makes sense when everyone’s setups are different and more and more people are enjoying HDTVs + multi-speaker sound. Bemani, etc. have the benefit of standard setups (eg arcade version) so they can get away with the just great/great/good/ok/miss system, but that doesn’t usually work well for targeting the general home consumer…

I played the demo for this game again today… damn I really want it, lol. But… $120. T.T

I’ve had friends over to play DJ Hero and it’s a pretty fun atmosphere. I agree though, it’s not quite as inclusive as Rock Band.

/facepalm

FUCK ROCK BAND! :annoy: :arazz:

 Right on
Getting this game this holiday, fuck they pretty much have all of my favorite song.

Satisfaction + Boom boom pow = wtf?
Satisfaction = ftw

So I powered my way through and finished all the mixes. Honestly there’s probably like 3-4 mixes that I didn’t like, the tiesto one being the biggest offender to my musical taste. Anyways, I love this game. I’ll probably get the dlc for it, but I’m not stoked for the $3/mix they’ll be charging.

Hey man, I just got here.

How ridiculous, this attitude from the DJs (not just here).

Don’t worry. Your skills are 1337; we get it. When it comes time to have a wedding, we’ll be sure you hire you and not some Asian kid who rules at the game. I don’t know of one guitarist that scoffed at Guitar Hero. In fact, a lot of the cats I know who play copped GH and loved it.

If all goes to plan, I’ll be trying it out at Best Buy tomorrow. Then likely buying it. That Daft Punk trailer killed me.

So the first set of DLC isn’t really that tight. Probably gonna pass on it unless you guys report that it’s worth the 3 bucks.

Vanilla, it’s interesting that you don’t like the Tiesto mix which I absolutely love, but I suppose it’s just musical taste.
