This. Being a veteran since the first Diablo game I disagree with the art style of D3 on many levels. Although DarkD3 really fixed quite a bit of things for me (especially the ridiculous “blurry” filter"). Check it out: www.darkd3.com
Diablo 3 doesn’t need to be visually darker.
I’ve been playing wizard, too and I think poor wiz is probably one of the weaker classes in the beginning
Her early damage is lacking unlike DH with a good bow and the god like guiding arrow/rapid fire. Once you get explosive rune for shocking pulse things get better but that shit has crap range and zero predictability. She doesn’t really have reliable get out of jail cards early unlike vault that can be spammed to shit. Diamond armor has been serving me okay but the short duration and long cooldown is recipe for a good scare. I’ve been playing in HC and somehow survived all the server lag/disconnects so far but damn, it’s a roller coaster ride with her.
Kinda glad I didn’t take this week off.
Hopefully everything will run smoother the week of May 28 when I do get a week off.
For WD, I thought the frogs were going to kick ass but its slow and wastes too much mana.
I leveled a WD to 10 last night. I liked it, but I thought that both Spiders and Frogs sucked. Maybe they will have runes that make them better.
I hit level 22? today and had to try the giant frog for the lulz.
And then I switched back to darts.
It gets much better later. Diamond skin is very good even at the end of act 4. Don’t know how well it’ll do in higher difficulties, but since it seems to have more life than the wiz itself, i think it’s still can be a good panic button. Plus the wiz has like 4 other skills they can use as a panic button or to kite, so you don’t need to eat hits if you really don’t want to. A cool thing to do if you are against a lot of projectiles with some melee coming at you at higher levels is slow time, then have a shit load of projectiles come at you, press force wave to send everything back into their faces.
I think 2handers when equipped will pretty much lower your dps in most cases since they are just slower, but if you are built toward harder hits with moves that won’t be spammed, like meteor or blizzard, it will be much better than using a 1hander. Dunno what moves that barb that work like that, but something like earthquake would probably be more effective with a 2hander than a 1hander, but that’ll make you trade some ability to slap shit silly. Plus that dps number is just dps for your basic attack it seems, and doesn’t seem to take in account your skills you use.
Agreed.
I guess people forgot about neon green worms that make little puppy noises when you hit them with your pink sword.
Is there a way to play alone, hidden on Battle.Net, in case you don’t feel like playing with others?
I understand not the meaning of the picture.
Make the game private and tell everyone else to fuck off?
Demon Hunter and Wizard are near useless from Hell and Uup at this point. You build them tanky they do no damage, you build them damage, they get one shot. Right now best 3 classes are easily Monk, Barb, and Witch. Wizard and Demon Hunter are clearly a step bellow as far as PvE go.
Man I’m taking a euro trip for 2 weeks so now I gotta wait till I get back to the states, which will be in 1 week…I randomly think about it will walking around hahaha
I’m outi
Roberth
I saw a lot of people whining about the game being short, but I just now finished act 1 at 9.5 hours O_O
It’s short because of respecs. After you beat it once, twice… hell, ten times, you won’t really have much incentive to play… Or will you???
It’s a long game, but I’m very curious to see how many people are going to be playing one, two, three months from now. I’ll get my $60 worth by then for sure.
Depends how many of those people like grinding for better gear.
The only reason I ever replayed d2 was to look for loot. I kind of wish they didn’t let you trade out skills at will. Sure, it’s fun, but it kills any sort of dedicated, unique builds. There’s no real point in having more than 1 character of a particular class.
That’s a good thing. I’d rather this then have to re-roll every time I want to try a new build. That’s the sort of replayability I’m not looking for in my games.
The thing that I see with respecing at will is the lack of incentive to play again. What’s the point? There’s no hunger for perfection because… I’m already perfect, lol. It the short term folks will be happy, but down the road people are going to get more bored than a hooker on her last john for the day.
The story in D1 is better than the one in D3…
