*Official Borderlands Thread* - Mad Max + 5 Billion Weapons

I watched some streams of this game from begin to end and it’s incredibly bland. Ending is fucking stupid, there’s only like 10 unique enemies, and the environment only changes at the end with some snowy bits. Just some fair warning for those interested.

can you keep playing the game looking for items without finishing the game? its not linear, right?

theres basically a +new game after you beat it where you keep your items and levels and you can play the game over again. The enemies get tougher as well.

i would like to get this on the PC.

I figure to be playing as a Hunter though… i dont wanna be ganked by random scrubs:shake:

i got my pre-order on steam already
this will save me going to a store and start the dl asap at 12AM friday

$40 on console, $60 for PC. :lame:

Xbox it is.

60 really??
i got it for 45 on steam

I just checked my closest Future Shop and its…

Sold Out…

Were they selling it early or something? I thought it comes out tomorrow?

Edit: I’m guessing its just that because they can’t sell it early, their site lists sold out and not available as “Sold Out”.

Picking this up after class tomorrow, can’t pass up it up at $40!

add me if you wanna do some co-op. Right now im scavenging for the sniper rifle, only one part left. Cant find that shit nowhere

Time to beast with Roland and see how it goes.

Most support 1080p upscaled which is very different from true 1080p.

I called around, apparently future shops pricing is online only, but walmart is actually selling them at that price, so I’m off to go buy it from there…normally I don’t shop at walmart because I think its a shitty store, but I’m a consumer whore who can’t pass up a good deal.

60 might be a store PC price. It’s 50 on Steam and 45 for a pre-order. I’m looking forward to this. Rollin up a Brick/Tank.

This morning, I woke up with some intense cold + sinus headache combo. I decided that I had to go to class as I had a midterm review that day and would pick up Borderlands afterwards. It was the perfect plan and I was in no condition to pull it off but it was too good a deal to pass up, that Borderlands was.

  • I walked into Future Shop and they told me that they were out of Borderlands (I literally was there at 10:30 am, right after my class ended). I decided to head to Wal-Mart looking for a calculator for psych. Found out calcs were in Electronics, not school supplies…

  • I did not know I would regret ever going into the Electronics section until I did…

  • As I walk in, the 360 section was packed with people, staring and browsing through the 360 cabinet. “I wonder if they’re here for…” I stopped myself. “Calc comes first.” The phone in the area was ringing off the hook with the clerk answering with “No, we sold out, we don’t know when the next shipment comes in” repeatedly. She was also repeating it to EVERY single person in the 360 section, as they were apparently asking the same question.

  • The minute I took one step further into electronics, one of the clerks comes up to me, and angrily says:

“NO! We don’t have Borderlands! It’s SOLD OUT, and we are not sure when we are getting any more copies! TRY a different location.”

  • I thought to my self but that isn’t a good idea with a sinus headache, so I decided to respond with " That’s fine and all, but were do you keep your calculators?"

  • Her face kinda turned red before she showed me, and was apologizing to me for quite a while, explaining why she responded that day.

  • Apparently, every electronics store that sells games were being harassed all morning for not only Borderlands but to match it at $40 cause of Future Shop. Interestingly though, EB refused to do it. :wtf:

And that, my friends, is how my Tuesday began.

^Bison would’ve been proud.

For the last time, I changed my mind. I played both console versions and stuck with the PS3 version. Both versions are identical.

I picked this up yesterday for PS3 because it was $40 up here.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised since it wasn’t on my radar in the first place. Game runs really well from what I played so far…offline.

When I tried online, the game crashed at the menu. WTF

Other than that, for a $40 purchase, I’m pleased with the result right now.

EDIT: Providing the online doesn’t remain janky, feel free to invite me on PS3 Borderlands.

I searched the Gearbox forums and they stated:

"Update on the North American PS3 Friends Interface issue:

We’ve identified the problem and are working on a fix.
Believe it or not, the friends feature was heavily tested by Gearbox and 2K. However, this particular issue we found could have never manifested itself in our or 2K’s test environments.

Well find out very soon if the issue exists for the PS3 International versions of the Borderlands. If it does, well hopefully have a fix implemented before it affects those customers.

We are doing everything we can to get this problem addressed as quickly as possible. Thanks to everybody who provided us with tons of information."

I haven’t tried the online but I am very satified with the game.

Apparently the PS3 patch is already up?

I’m in or around level 17, playing solo soldier is brutal. Who wants to play on Live later?

finally able to start pre-loading
goddamn server was too busy all day

Is PSN good enough for multiplayer? I like playing these games co-op. If PSN still sucks, I’ll get on PC.
