This is GOT with an announcement that you may or may not agree with. In the end, I hope most new comers or many of old will take this into consideration at the least if you indeed do love this game like many do. I dropped all other fighters except 3 other ones in anticipation of this game. even though I said SF4 and TVC were my very last video games to purchase ever a while back. SF4 was okay but not the monster I wanted it to be. So TvC is it for me console wise and SSF4 @ arcades only. SSF4 will get good enough support without my wallet so its all good. It’s about the problem that has arrived since the dawn of TvC. Many players including even me are interested in getting into TvC, and are willing to shell out the cash for the newest addition to the Vs. series. However, we are not willing to shell out the cash for a new system that we are only going to play one game for it on. So to make this short and sweet I have a common sense solution to aid against this dillemma.
One of the biggest gripes is that money is sort of tight right now, and peeps just can’t be spending their money all willy nilly just for one system. That is alright and no one will blaim you for saving money. Although, sadly you still would like to purchase TvC anyways. The solution to this is if you still want to play this game without spending money just try to find an arcade still in the tradition of japanese arcades, and play TvC there thats if you have solid transportation without going to far out of your way. And you are definitely sure TvC is at the location. Best bet is to set up a schedule with you or your homeboys to go up there to play on a certain day of whatever month. When all of you have nothing but free time.
Now you don’t have transportation, but still want to play the shit out of it. That is cool too, mi amigo. **Nobody likes to go out of there way to have fun. **So the answer to this is if you still want to play TvC…go ahead and buy a copy of TvC upon release in the US. Reserve it now at GameStop (ugh) then steadily every so often you come to put a lil bit of cash on your reserve until it is fully paid off by the time it comes. So now what do you do next:wonder:? Now in this case to make this idea work you might have to do a lil bit of roaching off one of your buddies or even immediate family. Which means that you can ask someone you know to let you borrow it for like half a month or more if they barely play it. Or if you have a bud who also enjoys fighters you can just bring the game to his/her house for sessions or maybe even organize tournaments : ) for it. See didn’t buy that wii didja, lol?
“G.O.T, you dumbass everyone I know including me doesn’t own a wii in my vicinity. So wtf man, rly? But, I still wanna play it man. Plus, I aint traveling like that to play this:mad:.” Okay chill out everything has another side to it. If you dont like traveling much, don’t like spending much money to acquiring entertainment, and no one owns a wii…that is truly a problem. No one seems to really be playing except for a select few, and the game overall is in sort of a hellified pickle even with capcom hyping it up. One person can make a difference…not a change but a difference. You can only do you for what you love. I’m going to do what I can for this game.
So the only answer I could come up with is gather up as much money as you will allow yourself to spend, then get some old games with no sentimental value, and any left over credits that you might have at Gamestop. See what you have on your account altogether to see if you have enough to buy a used wii. Used Wiis should be about like 139.99-149.99+tax by itself. So the credits will take off a lil bit of that sum depending on the games you have. The final move is to check on ebay for used wiis selling for mad cheap.
For me, since I want the future of this game to be a prosperous one I will buy the game even without owning a wii seeing as I will have access to a wii in some way or another**. I HAVE/WILL NOT BOUGHT A WII ARCADE STICK**. I will do fine with just a Classic Controller, and just play on pads at tournaments. I play stick on every other fighter so its not that important for this one seeing as it is very niche as it is. And I urge everyone else to do the same if you dont wanna buy an arcade stick for the wii as well.
For me: Game (49.99 with tax-Paid off), Classic controller (19.99-24.99), and Borrowing Wii for 2 months so I can get deep with the game (Priceless). So in closing, see what works for you, and I hope to see a hella lot more people play this. For this particular game, I will definitely get my Dark Geese on, support the game, and spread the word best as I can.
I will post more later but I had to be the first to post in here, as I agree with all that you are saying!!! I actually have put myself as one of Dark Geese’s tourney runners in his fl tourney and am going to bring TvC: UAS and run it as a tourney!!! DG is the shit!!
Edit:
I mean really people need to step their shit up a little bit. I am trying to run a tourney for the game the day it comes out in jax fl. I am looking at this as my tourney setup. If my brother does buy the second copy then we will have 3 full setups:
Wii’s
Copies of TvC: UAS,
TV’s,
Wii Sticks(4)
Converters for PS2 sticks/pads(3)
Classic pads for the Wii (4)
I will even throw in an extra $50-$100 in the pot if we can get more than 16 people to show up.
I mean if my brother and I can get all this shit together why is it so hard for others to step it up. Mind you I have 2 children with my 3rd due on the 1st of Feb (hope he comes on the 27th of Jan lol) and my brother has 2 children and lost one at birth. (Love you baby!!) This is to say that in florida the money is the same as everywhere else, and both of us have seemed to get it together to buy the game(import and new Us copies) and a console(my brother has two consoles) sticks I have 3( Wii hori, TvC stick, PS2 Kof 12 stick) and He has 7 but 5 are minis for our children the other 2 are the hori and the Arcade Fighter fighting stick. Along with converters(3) and like (6)extra classics.
Really what GOT is saying is very easy and very possiable in helping the scene. While I do not condone using others for thier stuff, there are people like me that grew up in the nintendo era where playing games with others in fun and it only helps to play games with others if you have the stuff to allow them to play. (Ie: just come over and I will take care of the rest)
But hell even better than that is his idea about buying the game and playing it elsewhere… Like a lan center that will allow you to play online also… I think I have already said something like that… yep, yep I have. You find 3 other people intersted in the game and none of you have a wii? Go in 1/4th with them on the game and all of you guys take it to a lan center and play it up there. Really just quit being Bitches and step the fuck up people. This game is…
Nice! If the community isn’t active, the game won’t fly. So let’s get active already.
When I get my copy I’m going to go trying to get my friends into it at the very least. There’s hardly any scene in my neighbourhood but as long as I have monkeys to test things against, I can at least contribute to character strats and that sort of thing.
New Beef- The Camera Beef, and Your wallet.
Indeed. I already has preparations, Saetan. Anyway the Beef thread is not only for playing the game it’s different other problems as well
Now here is a beef I need to get off my chest and solve…well try to.
Dont feel like spending $$$ on getting a mad quality camcorder? Well this guy has the answer for all of you. Then after that maybe you can upgrade. If someone has a better idea/path let me know please. thnx.
I’ve been trying to get people as many people as possible interested in TvC. I’ve talked it up to friends and the community at destructoid.com.
One thing to note is that a Wii is a good system for fighting fans. The NeoGeo Anthology v.1 runs better on Wii than PS2. There’s also the NeoGeo games available on the Virtual Console and the KoF and SamSho Anthologies as well as the Guilty Gear Accent Core games. As for exclusives, the Wii has Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revoltion 3 which is really good and TvC. Owning TvC is good and well but if you’re not playing the game regularly, it won’t survive. It doesn’t have the same recognition as SF does. Just some food for thought.
I actually have a camera beef!! I have a camera and when I go to upload vids to my computer they are not in correct file type for me to upload them to youtube!! Help me please someone!

If they send the code 2 days after then how do I get $10 off the game? Not like I care my bro works at walmart and if all else fails I will go to GameShit and cop it from there. I know we have enough mom and pop game stores around here that I will get it the day it comes out. Why would people order online, the game has to be shipped on the release date so you will not get it until 2-4 days later correct?
Yeah, I’m getting this on launch. This should be pretty easy to rock with a pad for a while on this one seeing as how I fended pretty damn well on the 360 controller for BB until I got my TE stick. I should be able to get my brother into this, and MAYBE I can hype up some other people on this as well.
