Thx Hecatom, always caring for this very overlooked byt great game, and BTW yes, they SHOULD (Arc) add it to Arc Revo!!! Unless they have planned a sequel? (wich I doubt)
Sorry for the Necro and double post, today I had my very first long set of BF (100+ matches!)and what a fun and good game it is. Sure it was purely Urs mirrors and careless gaming (learning it) but the game is very fun as I said.
BTW Im friend of a guy who is doing a very big Anime event this December 16-17 and Im running the games tournament section, SSF4 AE is featured and he asked me “what another title can we get” and I no doubt said BF. He watched the game and said that “it was anime enough” haha he dont play that much any games.
Sadly as a TO I cant participate BUT I manage to convince some friends and of course all the anime passerby going to the event. So expect some footage at least and fun vids those days (nothing high level of course).
There, just 8 ppl joined the tourney and most of them learned a bit on the fly haha good stuff putting BF in front of a crowd. Wish the game was more known or more ppl played it, enjoy what you can haha mostly Urs mashing.
Wish I could get people to play in Norcal.
I could not participate in the tourney due to the rules of the event, and 2 more friends that are better than the players in the vid, didnt assisted.
Maybe I can arrange some casuals with them soon, but again we are not that good.
This is dope!!! Granted, the matches were Urs mirrors, but it sure beats Ashley mirrors!!!
Urs is really good for ppl to get into the game with. I wouldn’t recommend using 214B/D except in juggle combos. Mid range, 5C is your best friend. With it you can hit confirm, or safely go into 236A/C on block which sets up the basic frame trap into shoulder check.
All in all, I’m happy this tourney had footage and the game was received well.
@Lord_Raptor: you should come down to San Diego. Real talk, if you know ppl who play SF4, they can translate over to BF easily.
Jinxhand** I LOVE** your posts at DustLoop. Really informative. Ah, I really wish this game was played more. Are you still posting there BF info?
EDIT: Nevermind, Im reading them =D
Thanks a bunch for the support Hanzo_Hasashi! I’ll try to answer whatever questions I can on here especially for those who aren’t on Dustloop. I post up some stuff on twitter sometimes too.
Speaking of Dustloop, a Battle Fantasia wiki is in the works on that very same site. Stay tuned!
Lastly, I’ve got a little surprise for you Odile&Dokurod fans, so stay tuned for that.
Funny that like 2 years ago I downloaded (copy paste the entire page) out of Dragoninstall.
Odile <3 please surprise us!
I posted some ideas for Watson on the dustloop thread. I figured I’d just c&p the info here. Be warned, it’s quite a read.
Here’s a quick vid explaining the idea:
As promised, here’s the Odile & Dokurod Combo Vid. Please share your thoughts, criticisms, etc… Enjoy!!!
Excellent combovid Jinx!
BTW anyone who wants to play some ranked/player matches add me: XBL MKKhanzohasashi but BEWARE: Im in south america so the game might lag badlyyyyy.
Are you looking for 1/2 life combos? Deathbringer has one of the easiest 1/2 life combos. Ashley can do some serious damage too. Coyori’s mixups and her loop combo helps her do massive damage. Watson actually has one of those “Marvel” juggles that can go into his lvl 3 super. It all really depends on what you want based on your style of play.
Here’s the recent recorded stream on Mikado’s Ustream. (02/18/14)
New max damage Gachi Drive combo with Donvalve:
(corner) 6G~Heat, 9C, land, 4C~41236[ B], 2A~41236B, 236236B
It does at least 2100 dmg on every character. So far it’s the only combo that uses 2 Catapult Hammers. The opponent doesn’t have to be literally at the corner, so as long as Donvalve can 9C, land, and connect with 4C. 6G’ing a bit from the corner will change how long you have to hold B when doing 41236[ B].
I think it’s possible to do a double Catapult Hammer combo midscreen… I’m working on trying that out.
Donvalve doesn’t build much meter quicker than most characters (if you’re not using 2C and 5C alot), but this combo definitely is worth knowing since you can force characters to the corner, and you can force them to fight out of the corner. The issue then becomes whether or not the move they try to use is low or mid/high.
New vid. To anybody interested in Urs, or those who already play him, this is most of what he’s capable of. Please enjoy and provide any feedback. Thanks!

what’ll give for BF to get ported with more solid netcode?
Honestly, in order for something like that to happen, we as players would have to voice our opinion or something(kinda like how VF players made a petition in order for Sega to release VF5FS on consoles).
BF was the first 2.5D fighter that had netcode from Acrsys, and it wasn’t so great. With Xrd being ported to consoles, hopefully the guys at Arcsys can guage the netcode’s overall performance, and perhaps they can re-release special (or limited) edition of BF with better netcode, and maybe a few other knick knacks that weren’t in the original. The same game was ported to the NeSica arcades, so maybe with that there is still some hope.
I will try to talk to Iwasaki-san and Takuro-san and see what they can possibly do…
