I played about 40 matches with Giiyom last night and it was a blast. Just about no lag at all (68-70 ping) and just finally being able to play someone real was great. Nice Urs also, up and coming Battle Fantasia player eh? Looking forward to some rematches real soon, hopefully tonight.

Let’s all do our part to try and get some sort of crowd into this game I know it can happen. Invite your friends over, have them test out the game and see what they like. Especially for your Street Fighter IV friends as this game reminds me a lot of the “Street Fighter Style” but with a little Guilty Gear from Arcsys thrown in. Talking with Giiyom last night, we both agree there are some really good thing this game has going for it such as diverse characters, and a simple but excellent fighting system. I personally love the Gachi drive, even though I am far from mastering it. I hope Aksys pushes the game for a sequel, theres a lot of things going for this game. If they released a sequel in the coming year, with BlazBlue around the corner which means many new people will be playing a Arcsys game for the first time, having another Battle Fantasia released by Aksys game will catch peoples attention. Know what I’m saying guys?

And why would ArcSys release a sequel to a game that failed hard?
They did the smart thing and just took the gachi system and gave it to a character in BB (Guess who…)

Apart from the visual aspect (wich I don’t really care, but maybe some do) the game is actually surprisingly really good. It’s a mix-up between Guilty Gear and SF. But more like SF then GG.
Simple and a hell of a lot of fun.

Just got this game and I have to say it’s very fun, speed and style fit exactly what I like in a game. However I am having a hard as hell time finding guides for this game, just something that goes a little bit into the characters, subsystems, etc. Hell I kept hearing about there being a parry system in the game but never found out what it was until I just got messing around. I didn’t get a manual with my copy (bought it used) and when I say Olivia blow out a heart and then knock shit back I was quite surprised.
also what is the best button config for this game? There are about 10 things listed in the configuration screen but I only have 6 buttons on my stick. Currently I have it:
A-C-Parry
B-D-Taunt

Bought it for $20 and it’s been something I’m very happy with so far. I found a thread here that gets a bit deep into the game so that helps.

Battle Fantasia is as underrated as they come, all they really need to fix is the forgettable music and to improve the netcode. Otherwise, it’s a damn solid fighter with a lot of potential, hopefully a sequel is in the works.
