The only thing turning me off right now is that I haven’t seen one character that grabs my attention and makes me say “I wanna play as that guy”. The character design just is missing something IMO, though I don’t know what exactly.
Damn, I think the designs are hot. Cedric the healer, Face the gunner, etc… Maybe I take the RPG shit too far?
I like the character design. I think Freed and Face look awesome. Of course, I hate Cedric with a passion. He looks like a queer harry potter to me =/
How can you not like Deathbringer’s design?
I’ve actually had time to sit down with this one now, and I like it a lot. :3
I took a liking to Coyori, as I figured I would (especially considering she reminds me of Jam from the GG series), but Urs and Ashley are fun, too. :3
Deathbringer is just the classic black knight. he’s not really special, but he is awesome. and scary.
well obviously
Spoiler
Death Adder + Nightmare + Darth Vader = Deathbringer
Deathbringer is probably my least favorite design from this game. Character-design-wise, I consider Battle Fantasia to be really hit-or-miss, because for every character as awesome as Face or Watson, you get something as lame as Ashley or Odile.
So, I never really got into any Aksys games, but coming from a capcom background, would this game be a good transition into BlazBlue?
I finally picked this up today. Have yet to play it though. Hopefully I’ll be able to tear myself away from Rune Factory Frontier long enough to play this…
I bought it a week ago. To be absolutely perfectly honest, I don’t like it as much as SF4, but it’s still fun. To put it in terms for someone like me (no master of fighting games), I’d say it plays like Alpha 3 on V-ism…
But the characters are (mostly) awesome and fun to play, and the game is imaginative and at least worth a try, if not a buy.
I traded in Gears of War 2 and I had to pay $20, but I still think it was worth it. I suck at the game btw, if anyone wants to add me on XBL go for it.
Probably not… I was thinking so, but it’s not quite like their other games. I would play Accent Core, HnK or Sengoku Basara X… Or Bigbang Beat, which I feel is similar.
Anyone got any Ashely and Face tips? Those are the two I like the most so far. I know how to do Ashely’s big Romance Wing heat mode combo but that’s about it ;_;
I picked this up on release and then didn’t really play it cause online was dead and no one in meatspace wanted to get into it. Then I discovered these forums with SF4’s release… So, if anyone want’s to play online, I’d love to give it a shot. Hit me up on Live, gamertag: CorporateSpy
i havent played this game in forever, but id be down to play if somebody shot me a challenge
I don’t get why Olivia’s endgame art is her dancing with McGruff.
He helps her take a bite outta crime.
“I want it I want it!”
Yeah, me too. I’d really like to start playing this again.
Everyone who plays, add me please. No one is online for a public match at all. I was like searching for 30 minutes without a single match.
Thats good that peeps are jumping back into playing this game. Like I’ve said, it deserves more attention then its getting.
I just got it this morning, finding it a bit shallow, but I think that is because I can’t get my head around the gachi system.
I’m still not fully in control of how to use the gachi system, but it kind of reminds me of a mix between SFIII parries (regular gachi) and doing quick focus absorbs + counter attack in SFIV (gachi drive), except that you use a dedicated button to activate it. I played tekkamansoul last night for a few bouts (which was great to finally play someone online) and during one bout I managed to use it to block the beginning several hits of his super special, hitting the gachi button for each strike (it reminded me of watchin SFIII super parries, and I felt gosu until he finally hit me with the end of it).
I suppose if I had used a gachi drive instead of a regular gachi during on of those hits, I would have hit him out of super, and sent him bouncing against the wall, setting up a juggle. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though.
I think the game is deeper than it seems at first glance though, expecially when you start making calls about whether to sacrifice level for heatups, and mixing that up in your combos…
I’d be down for playing whenever if I’m online, but I guess you have the PS3 version.
Yeah I do, sorry bro.
I used the gachi system to try and parry a few projectiles from Urs, but I still don’t really get it, I know you can wall bounce people and stuff, but the manual is a bit crap at explaining it. It just says:
(from memory)
-use gachi when the opponent attacks, then follow up with your own.
-use gachi drive when you are under attack.
So I suppose gachi drive is a bit more of a C-C-COMBO BREAKER.
Also it is hard to know which moves are “gachi drive-able” when I’ve only been playing for about 30 mins.
…I dunno though really lol…
