Official AXISdapter Thread: SIXAXIS/DS3 Hacking Made Easy (ONLY PACK A avail)

HI ShinJN, I see that you still have the AXISdapter available and would like to the add to the order. So I would like 2 boards, package B&C.

“AXISdapter Pre-order”, quantity=2, package=b&c, location=Toronto Canada.

PM sent.

sent you a PM ,… two actually

oh yeah… I want B

Cool, got you guys down and on the list. I can’t wait to get all the stuff. I just want to get these out to you guys ASAP!!!

hmm… bad english and mis understanding =_=a, ShinJN, I mean I sent you two pm, not ordering two… i intend to order one thank you

Ok, I just created a mock shipping label using Per’s address and I am able to get the $13 shipping using Small Flat Rate Box. The only thing is insurance isn’t offered. And according to USPS, tracking IS included.

is there a possible way to tell if my DS3 has the 20pins without opening it up? like a model #, version A,B,C…etc. Im afraid to open it up and not able to put it back.

that is SEXY.

From reading slagcoin’s thread, there are two versions of the DS3. I don’t have a DS3 to gut, but going off of the picture on slagcoin’s site, http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/ps3_diagram3.jpg, if your controller is model CECHZC2U, it should have the 20 FFC connector. No promises though.

I hope slag has pics of the model number for the new DS3 up soon.

I’m in for a package c.

this is very good…

i was asking toodles if he’d make a wireless cthulu and he said he wouldnt so this now is a very good addition for people that would like wireless ps3 sticks

i will buy more than one for sure…

edit: so apparently toodles will make his own version?

i ll still buy one from you though

where do i have to get it from?

Yup. Toodles will be making his own version. If you want one, I’ll throw you on the pre-order list.

I am interest in one package c. Do u have a chart for the Six and DS3? I mean after using the board. Where do the wires goes??? I kind of new on this stuff.

If there’s any left, sign me up for one package C.

If you look at the board, the connections are all labeled. I’ll add you both to the list.

In addition, the intro doc that I am currently writing will detail all the connections with the corresponding pin numbers.

Looks like all boards have been locked. Those that still want a board will be added to a waiting list. There may be some that do not pay or decide not to order. I will be getting another batch because my homies gave up their boards for you guys and they want their boards. No estimate when the new batch will be ordered. I’m guessing it’ll depend on how well these sell and if everyone that preordered sticks with their order.

My padhacking knowledge for the custom sticks I’ve made is limited to plugging in the cord for the soldering iron and handing it to my brother for him to do the work - so, sorry for the stupid question. Basically with the solderless version, you’d open up a SIXAXIS, plug the ribbon part into the board, then take some 20 gauge wire and put female connectors on them to attach them to your buttons? Sounds awesome.

My question is, does it charge like a regular SIXAXIS? I guess you have to plan your case around it and cut a hole to expose the USB connector? Also I feel silly for asking this on a hardcore fighting game website, but of course there is no lag?

Since this batch is sold out I’ll be hoping for a second run, or waiting for Toodles to sell them (through Lizardlick like the Cthulu…?)

Correct.

Yes, it still will require connection to a power USB power every now and then for charging, and will also require it be plugged into any new PS3’s you need to play on for the initial synching so the PS3 knows it is okay to talk to that SIXAXIS and visa versa. You can install some sort of jack on your case, or you can slightly ghetto it by having an inch of a USB cable coming out the back of the stick, and using a USB extension cable for when you need to plug it in. Because you still have the ‘mini-B’ USB connection on the pad, you have a lot of options, all of them easy.

Everything has been ordered. I’ll post up when mine get here and I’ll get them tested and send out any for those who want them, the rest will go to Lizard Lick. Lots of folks have been happy being able to get them from LL so I don’t see any reason why not.

Yup, all you do is plug in the ribbon cable to the SIXAXIS PCB, run some wire to the screw terminals, then connect those wires to your joystick and buttons.

Your PCB will remain intact. Meaning you will have to charge it through the USB port on the PCB. I personally use the NAUSB (http://www.markertek.com/Product.asp?cat=CABLESCONN&subcat=DATACON&prodClass=USBAD&search=0&off=0&baseItem=NAUSB) and mount that to the case. So a USB cable runs from the SIXAXIS PCB to the NAUSB.

The adapter board is simply an extension of the 20 pin FFC connector on the SIXAXIS. There is no signal processing at all. So there is no lag. I’ve played 100+ matches of HDR and it works just fine.

Edit: I decided to bump the count to 48 boards to sell. As of right now, 2 are left for pre-order. Parts should be here this week. Shipping supplies, well, I hope they get here this week. Otherwise I’m going to have to hobo the post office.

I may take those additional two if I can? Please keep em for me for 4h until I know more…

You got it.
