I have used Method B. Upon Installing and running you will notice if you goto start/Control Panel/Game Controllers/properties:
You will see that the DPad registers on the Point of view hat…
Button presses are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12.
You will need to refer back to these so keep window open for now…
Joy2Key is a keyboard emulator for usb type controllers.
To solve the issue of no DPad usage:
Run Joy2Key, create a new .cfg and goto the Others tab.
Enable Use POV switches
Setup your keyboard however you like, The POV1 will be your dpad.
Whenever you run a game on the pc, tell it to use keyboard (not joystick/pad)
Make the mapping (on your game) match the button numbers set in Joy2Key
IE:
Triangle = 1, joy2Key = D
Circle = 2, J2K = C
Cross = 3, J2K = X
etc… etc…
Then simply leave Joy2Key running in the background when you use it.
Now your good to go with a hassle free PS3 pad/stick running on PC.
quick question board the ribbon that you guys use to connect the sixaxis adapter to the chtulu/pcp board. Does it come with the adapter or do i have to buy it separately?
Just a little info on those that pay using eCheck through PayPal. eChecks take at least ONE WEEK to clear before your funds are transferred to me. I only ship your boards once the eCheck has been cleared. If you don’t like the wait, don’t pay with eCheck.
Other than that, I usually ship 1-2 days after getting payment. If there is a delay, that means some bad (personal) stuff has happened.
For those that want to the hole in the middle of the AXISdapter for mounting onto the left analog stick, make sure you find a way to secure it so the tension from the ribbon cable does not cause the left analog stick to move. One way I do it is place the AXISdapter onto the left analog stick, hold the AXISdapter and left analog dead center, then fold the ribbon cable. This should make it so the AXISdapter just rests on the left analog stick.
To keep the AXISdapter from falling off, I just use a zip-tie. Another way is to hot glue or gorilla glue the left analog stick so it doesn’t move at all. lol.
midnit3dragon, that is a sick setup. Nice use of an old Dynamo cabinet! This is one application where someone doesn’t need it for wireless but for easy hacking. Good work.

Thanks for the mounting tips ShinJN, My stick seems much happier now I covered the topside (underneath in my setup) with black tape (to stop the soldered points shorting on the analog stick block) and gave the ribbon a bit of a fold, now it sits much more firmly (I had a slight issue with it shorting and turning the controller off before) but now it fits and sits still with no issues.
Hey all. Fair warning, I am a complete stick building noob. Anyway, I have the old T5 Special edition stick and I want to convert it into a wireless PS3 stick. From the looks of things, this adapter will make my life a lot easier. What else would I need to get? I can change the stick and buttons later, but this is the only part that scares me. If you can shoot me some tips that would be awesome
I think the hardest part would be setting up a spot for the usb jack. possibly have to do some drilling inside. and from what i’ve read on the forum here getting a JLF into T5 seems pretty difficult too. oh wait I forgot that the buttons are soldered onto the pcb in the T5 that’ll be tough too unless you don’t mind just breaking it all.
