Hi ShinJN,
Can you put me down for 2 any color. PACKAGE C as always.
Take your time. I won’t need them for a few weeks.
Thanks!
Hi ShinJN,
Can you put me down for 2 boards, package C any color as well?
I have payment ready if you want me to just email you with details.
Thanks,
I’ve updated the lists in the first post to reflect new requests, those that have confirmed their order, and the orders I’m currently packing. Those that have paid for their order will have their packages dropped off at the post office tomorrow morning.
And as requested, here’s a higher res version of my logo:
If you need a bigger one let me know.
Yea, good idea.
Just got back from the post office…line’s out the door. Doesn’t anyone know how to frickin e-file…
I’m going to ask for some help from Canada folks here with the topic of shipping. As of right now, I offer only Priority Small Flat Rate Box, First Class Mail, and Express Mail.
When using the SFRB, gns said it takes 3 weeks to receive. That’s how long it took him to get his AXISdapters. A huge WTF. Also there is no tracking and no insurance.
What is your guys’ experience with First-Class Mail to Canada? How long is the wait and how reliable is it?
Express Mail is pretty much the fastest and it has tracking and insurance. It just costs so much.
How does your customs works? What will make a package not subject to customs fees?
I want to experiment with FedEx and UPS. I need some tricks.
Cheers ShinJN! Perfect sizing too.
A 3 week wait for ANY package coming from the USA is not typical in my experiences. However, sometimes crap gets delayed at customs in which case, I’ve seen things be delayed up to a maximum of 3 weeks. Any longer than that, and you can pretty much assume you’ll never get it.
Just a few observations based upon my own experiences:
USPS:
Relatively reliable, I’ve never really encountered any major problems with them. Shipping time took anywhere from 4-12 business days for small parcels. Yes, I’ve received damaged products/empty envelopes. And just recently, I ordered some stuff from aggrastat, with tracking, but it looks like it’s gotten lost/disappeared. Their track record isn’t the greatest, but the problems are pretty rare in my experiences. Probably the biggest advantage of them is that I rarely get charged duties/customs when picking stuff up. Stuff arrives relatively quick. Their tracking system blows, it’s entirely useless. Never updated with any info.
*On a side note, aggrastat by far is one of the NICEST guys to deal with regarding shipping and customer satisfaction–
UPS:
I’ve had some crappy experiences with them. They sometimes charge insane brokerage fees for importing stuff (brokerage fees are on top of duties/taxes). If you ship via UPS Ground, not only does it take forever to get here, but you’re guaranteed to pay a hefty brokerage fee. UPS Air with a low value declared (under $20) should get past brokerage/customs, but I think Air costs more than Ground for Americans. As far as I know, UPS Air custom checks are seldom/random. But Ground is 100% guaranteed to go through customs.
Good thing about UPS is that their tracking is great, well updated and scanned. I’ve never gotten a lost package from them. Packages arrive in pretty good condition too, never damaged.
**
FedEx**:
Barely use this one, but the few times I’ve had have also been good. Never paid any brokerage/duties/taxes. Stuff arrived quick and safe. No idea about their tracking, never tried or monitored it.
Bottom line: US sellers, if you declare stuff as ‘gifts’ with a low value (under $20USD) that’s about the best thing you can do to avoid customs duties/taxes. Some sellers are against it (insurance purposes, or ethical reasons) so it’s up to you. I have no idea what the cost difference between the 3 are so I guess you gotta weigh that into consideration too.
Hope this helps. Being Canadian isn’t always so fun haha, you Americans got all the cool stuff I wanna buy :wasted:
etwonnipples. Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, USPS ‘tracking’ is pretty useless when it comes to international shipments unless you get Express Mail.
Shipping costs between Express Mail and using the workarounds for UPS / FedEx seem to be in the same range. There are benefits and trade offs to all services. I think I’ll just leave my shipping options as they are. If anyone wants a specific shipping carrier, just let me know and I’ll grab a quote for you.

Maybe, I am unlucky. But I have bought from 3x from aki, 3x from LL, 1 from Toodles,1 from shinjn and countless time from monoprice with regular shipping.
Except for monoprice, everytime, I have waited 3 weeks. No duty which is a plus but the biggest order was from aki for 200$. I just assume I have been flagged or somethin.
I emailed you with info. Just waiting on a reply with paypal address so I can send the money.
Thanks!
This board is a godsend, i have have nothing but frustration trying to mod my ps3 (sixaxis) board…hopefully I haven’t completely stuffed it!
PM sent, just awaiting further instruction!
ShinJN can you pm me you e-mail please? I cant see it in the forum lol
usps priority sucks.
ups charges way too much for customs.
fedex has always been good. but expensive.
Payment sent!
Maybe it’s slightly different for you guys down east, but here in Edmonton it’s not so bad. It’s pretty rare for me that I ever hit the 3 week mark; stuff that’s declared as gifts and under $20 are typically here in 5-8 business days which is almost 2 full weeks.
FedEx tracking is amazing though haha, so detailed though-- me and aggrastat are doing a test run :3
The controller I have has copper insead of carbon on the controller. I just did a quick test and was able to get the PS3 button to turn on the playstation pressing down on the FFC connector. I didn’t try any further testing. The layout is the same on the press down controller as on the slot one, so it’s possible people could use it with this adapter.
ShinJN im all ready to make payment, can you please pm me?
